I felt like just running from him. Just leaving and never coming back to ever see him again. I wiped the wet little droplets off my face and opened the door to my car. I sat down, took a deep breath, and turned over the engine. I looked at Louis who was watching me back out of the driveway. I shifted my car into drive and knew exactly where I wanted to go. A place that Louis would never think to look for me, Ames' apartment.

I had so much explaining to do for him and I felt so safe when he is around. Ames only lived a few blocks away so I was able to make it to his apartment building in 15 minutes. I parked my car, stepped out, and started shuffling toward the front door. Ames' apartment building was beautiful and I felt overwhelmed as I walked in the lobby. Ames had gotten a scholarship to Notre Dame for football so they gave him money to live here before he left for college. As I walked up to the front desk a sweet looking old woman smiled at me and said "Hello dear, who are you looking for today?" "Ames Johnmaren, I'm his...girlfriend." "Oh. Sweet boy he is. He's located in room 312 on the third floor." "Thank you m'am. Much appreciated." I walked up to the elevator and pressed the little arrow button that was points up. I waited for about 2 minutes for the elevator to open and when it did none other then Ames himself was standing there hands in pocket leaned up against the back wall.

"Oh my God Dawn what are you doing here?" he said with a small smile in his face. "I was looking for you actually. I owe you an apology and an explanation for just running out like that on you. I'm sor-" but he cut me off but gently grabbing my waist. "Hey it's ok you don't have to apologize. Do you want to come back up to my room so we can talk privately?" he said with that adorable half smile. "That would be great" and I followed him into the elevator. The elevator ride only took a few minutes and soon enough we were in Ames' room.

The apartment was gorgeous and bigger then two of my apartments combined. "Ames it's so beautiful" I giggled and twirled in a little circle with my arms put out. "I know" he said and was looking at me the whole time. I just blushed and he walked over to me. "Do you want to talk about what happened at the party"? he said as he took my little hand in his. "Yeh I do" and I followed him over to the couch with his hands still squeezing mine.

He sat down on the couch first and then pulled me down slowly on top of him. I just looked into his beautiful hazel eyes and he tucked a small curl that was in front of my face behind my ear. We ended up talking for hours and I told him the entire situation. "Well how do you feel about him now" Ames whispered. "I honestly don't know what to think." I whispered back and sighed. "Come with me" he said and I sat up first and he lead me to his balcony.

It was perfect size with two chairs and a small table along the back side closest to the house. I rested both my hands on the railing and my elbows locked. I looked out and saw the beautiful town; it's vast open fields and farms scattered everywhere. It felt like looking at Heaven on earth. Ames walked up slowly behind me and wrapped his strong arms around me. I spun around to face him and he couldn't have looked anymore handsome then he did right now. He ran his hand through the back of my curls and put his warm hand on my cheek. He moved his thumb back and forth.

"May I pick up where I left off?"he whispered and smiled. "I thought you'd never ask." He tilted his head slightly, leaned down and planted an amazing kiss on my lips. I kissed back with an equal amount of passion and there were sparks flying. "You are the most beautiful woman in the entire world Dawn Everdeen." l was too happy for words and tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks as I let out a small laugh and just smiled.

He wiped away the tears with his thumb. "Those are tears of joy right?" I nodded and smiled and grabbed his neck as I went in for another kiss. He automatically accepted and moved his hands down to my waist as our lips moved. I felt as if I'd never been happier in my entire life.
