His house was different than I expected. I had thought it would be a cluttered flat since he was funding his own house on limited money but it was actually quite nice. His family must have been really wealthy for him to be able to feed himself for a year, fly overseas than still be able to live in a nice house.
"My parents brought this place before the Partial outbreak. We were going to fly over here to live, but the outbreak happened and they wouldn't let anybody fly overseas. They have really only just allowed it. Said it was a way to try and restore normality. I got on the first flight I could. So now this place is all mine." He leant against the doorway into what I guessed what the kitchen. He looked at me "what?"
"I'm guess I'm just really surprised you have done so well on your own."
"Well I had to do something right? Couldn't mess about crying my entire life. My mum and dad saved up lots of money for me incase something like this did happen. They were really superstitious. I thought they were crazy but I guess it payed off." He laughed lightly. "Wanna drink?"
I stayed at his house for what felt like an eternity. We watched movies, played games, talked. I felt like I already knew everything about him. I called dad and told him i wouldn't be coming home. I was just going to hang out with Sin for the night. He was fine with it, though slightly surprised i was letting someone into my life. Yes, I know what your thinking. The night is not going to be like that. Though if you were to see us now that would be exactly what you would think. It is probably about 9:00pm. I'm curled up against him on his ultra fancy lounge suite, we have a blanket draped over us and we are watching the movie 'Jumper'. Its a movie about this guy who can teleport and he is being chased by some guy who wants to kill him. Overall, I rate it 3/5 stars.
"What would you do if I could teleport?" Sin asked.
"Hmmmm, probably ask you if you could teleport us both into like a toy store or a grocery store at night. That would be cool."
"Yeah. I've always wondered what it would be like to do that. Just like hide under the shelves and as soon as everyone leaves eat all the food or play with all the toys."
"I guess we are a bit old for toys now though." I said regretfully.
"How so?"
"My imagination isn't just what it used to be."
"Nah, I don't think your ever to old for toys."
"That's the gayest thing you have ever said." His lips twitched upwards slightly.
"Would you have a problem with me being gay?" He teased.
Yes. Because then I couldn't have you. Wait! What am I thinking?
"Course not. It's just I have never heard a eighteen year old guy admit he likes playing with toys." I laughed lightly.
"I'm not like other guys." I wriggled closer against him. This all felt so strange. Being close to somebody. I have never really let anyone in since Shanelle. I felt like I was moving to fast. Maybe for him this was normal. Was he single? Oh crap. What if he has a girlfriend and I am getting the total wrong idea. I pushed that thought away.
"I know." I paused "your so much better."
I must have fallen asleep on him. I don't remember feeling tired, or drifting into a sweet oblivion but I remember being startled awake. Outside it was pitch pitch black. There was a loud 'thud thud thud' as somebody or more likely something walked on the roof. One word popped into my mind
Partial.
I stayed quiet. If we were quiet it wouldn't think we were here. It would move on, find other prey. I squeezed Sins hand gently. His eyes popped open instinctively. He was jumpy, alert, that's what kept the human race alive. We aren't paranoid or anything, just aware. I put my finger to my lips telling him to be quiet. Sin heard the noise and nodded understandingly. I don't know exactly why I woke him. It wasn't because I was scared, but way deep down, I feel safe when i'm around him. Something I haven't felt for a long time. The loud thuds continued for about fifteen minutes echoing off the inside of the house. Why hasn't it left yet? The footsteps were uneven. My eyes widened as it clicked. There was more than one Partial up there. I listened. About five. There was a serious of extra loud thuds. More were jumping onto the roof. What the heck?
"Sin." I whispered urgently "There too many for this to be a coincidence. They must know we are here." I felt his body tense. He opened his mouth to say something but I never heard what. He was cut off by a loud piercing cry. A Partial death cry. There was a loud smashing and tearing sound. The Partials were pulling off the roof tiles and throwing them onto the ground. Sin stood up and pulled me up with him.
"Quickly! Follow me!" He yelled over the Partial caused chaos. He ran down the hall and twisted into his bedroom. He pulled open his closet and started emptying it out, throwing his things everywhere.
"What are you doing?" I asked utterly confused. He ignored me still throwing out his clothes and shoes.
Another Partial yelled and I heard them pour into the lounge, hitting the ground and beginning to scan the house. Sin carefully gripped the edge of the closet floor and lifted it up. He reached his hand down and switched a light switch on. The dark hole in the closet lit up to reveal a long downwards staircase. My mouth dropped.
"Go." He ushered me. I ran down the stairs with him right behind me. I heard a faint clicking sound as he slid the closet floor back into place, just as a Partial turned into the room. I gulped and ran down the stairs further into the earth, hearing the Partials cries gently fade behind me.

Authors note- well.... That's gotta suck. Where is Sin leading her? Will the Partials find them? So many questions, not enough answers.
Vote if you hate having to get a new roof because Partials ripped the old one open.
