Benny's Pov

I was working on the air plane motor, here in Iran. I'm a mechanic for the Army. I've been in the army for 4 years now. I love my job, but for me working in the army, means I'm away from my best friend, my little man, my son Tyler Nolan. I haven't seen him for 2 years now. I mean we call and I write him a letter once a week, but it's not the same. He's the reason why I do all things I do here? Thank God mama and dad are raising him, the best way that they can. I know Tyler is  being taking care of, when I'm not with him. I was writing everything down when my buddy Seth Ross come over. I met him 4 years ago when I was in Boot Camp. He's English/American and is one of the nicest men you will ever met. 

" So are you all most done?" Seth asked me. I looked at him like he was dumb. 

" I would have been done sooner, if you would help me?" I told him. In the last week I've done about 5 motors all by myself. 

" Sorry man. I was writing a letter to mum." Seth told me. 

" I know. It's cool man. Come on help me with all of this paper work." I told him. We went back to the tent so we can do all of this carp load of paper work. I went over to the desk and saw the last picture of me and Tyler together. We was at the park and Shiloh took the picture. She's now working in the hospital as a Nurse. We may not be together no more, but she is my best friend. We talk all the time. I'm so proud of her. She went off and is doing what she loves to do, like I am. But I have a 5 year old son to think about as well.  

" Dude, are you ready to go home for Christmas?" Seth asked me. I looked at him 

" Hell yes. Dude do you know I haven't seen my son in 2 years now? Please don't get me wrong I love my job, but damn I do miss my little man." I told Seth. I know right now he would be getting ready for bed time. I know dad told me that I need to think about my job first and Tyler needs to be in the end of my mind, but some times that's hard to do 

" How do you do that?" Seth asked me. I was writing everything that we need.

" How do I do what?" I asked him. 

" Being away for your son?" Seth asked me?

" I know he's in a safe place. I know he has love every where he goes? I know mama and dad are taking good care of him." I told him. 

" You really are a brave man? Does little man even see his mother?" Seth asked me. I haven't told a lot of people about me being a single father. 

" No. Tyler was only 3 weeks old when Tara kicked us out. We been living with my mama and dad ever since?" I told him. Tara gave up all of her rights on Tyler and I don't want Tyler to see all that mess. Hell, the last time I heard Tara was living Mexico with her mother. John is still in the same place and still is selling cars and fixing them. 

" Damn, dude you have a lot on your plate?" Seth told me. Oh, I know. We went back to work when Sargent Flynn walked in. Seth and I got up. 

" Boys I need to talk to you both?" Flynn told us. I looked over at Seth. This could mean one of 2 things? 

" Men, I love all the work you have done?" Flynn told us. 

" Thank you sir." Seth and I said together. 

" Now, the bad new?" Flynn told us. Dear God. 

" We are going home early?" Flynn told us. We was going to be here until December 22 and go home. Not 2 months early.

" Sir can I ask why?" Seth asked him.  

" The work is here done? We leave in 20 minutes?" Flynn told us. 

" Sir, can I ask you something?" I asked him. 

" What is Gilbert?" Flynn said to me. 

" How long are we going to be at base?" I asked him. 

" We aren't going to base? We are all going home until January 25th." Flynn told us, walking out of the tent? I looked at Seth who was smiling from ear to ear. 

" Dude we are going home?" Seth told me. I can see my little man, now after 2 long years. We packed everything up and got on the plane. I can't wait until see my family? Mama's home made cooking. Dad looking at mama like they are only 18 years old. Hanging out with Billy and Sophie? Brennan and Lila talking all the time. But mostly hanging with my my son.
