Benny's Pov 

I was sitting in the lazy boy just looking at the letter that John left for me. I still can't believe that he left everything to me. The shed, the house on Sydney Lane, the cars and all of that money. What in the hell am I going to do with it. Mr Miller, John's lawyer told me to read the letter and I will understand it all, but I just can't open the letter. Not yet. Mama called me and asked if Shiloh, Tyler and I wanted to come over for dinner tonight. She said everyone is going to be there. As much as I would like that I just need to be alone with my little family. I have a lot of thinking I need to do. 

I opened up the letter and looked down at it. I still can't believe I have to read this. I don't want to think about nothing right now. I heard the door opened and closed. I looked and saw Shiloh walking into the living room. She had to do a double shift at the hospital. Shiloh walked over to me and gave me a kiss. 

" How did it go babe?" Shiloh asked me. I looked up at her. 

" Well, Tara was there." I told her. She looked down at me. 

" How did that go?" Shiloh asked me. I pulled her down on to my lap. 

" Not good. She is pissed off at me." I said to her. Shiloh looked at me. 

" Why? What did you do to her?" Shiloh asked me. 

" Nothing. It's what John did?" I said to her. Before Shiloh could say anything, I showed her the letter. 

" What is this?" Shiloh asked me. 

" It's the letter John left me. Telling me why I got everything?" I told her. Shiloh looked at me. 

" What do you mean?" Shiloh asked me. 

" John left everything to me. The shed, the house, the cars and a lot of money?" I said to her. 

" I bet Tara was pissed?" Shiloh said to me. 

" You have no idea? She said she is going to sue us, but Mr. Miller, John's lawyer told her there is nothing she could do." I said to her. 

" Did you read the letter?" Shiloh asked me. 

" No, not yet. I was about to but--" I stopped talking. 

" Read it babe. I'm going to and take a bath before I go and get Tyler from school. Love you Benjamin." Shiloh said to me. I looked at her. 

" I love you to babe." I said to her. I watched as Shiloh left the living room. I opened up the letter again. Here we go. 

"Benny my boy,

I know this is hard for you to grasp on what is going on. I want you to listen to me and do what I am telling you. You know I am always right. You are the son that I never had. When Tara kicked you and Tyler out of the house that night, I knew what to do. That's why I am doing this, not just for you, but for Tyler as well. Over the years when you was in the Army, I would get Tyler on weekends and It was the time of our life. I always told him that you was out there keeping him safe from all the bad guys. You are Tyler's Hero. Don't let my grandson down. I'm counting on you. 

The next thing you need to know is, the house on Sydney Lane. I bought that house about 3 years ago. I bought it for you and Tyler. Thinking one day you Tyler and a nice woman would all move into the house and start a family. Maybe one day it could be Shiloh. I saw the look in your eyes when Shiloh is around. You never had that look when Tara and you was dating. Shiloh makes you a better person. Maybe one day I will see you both walk down the aisle as man and wife, but if I don't I will be watching from heaven. Move into that house and start living again. I know that you have seen a lot of bad things, but just think of the good times that you been through. The birth of your son, his first word, the day he starting walking.  Don't keep the hate that you have on Tara, she wasn't there for you nor for Tyler, but you have a good woman that is there for you. You know what to do with her. 

I have all the cars, the house and the shed all paid in full. All you have to do is run them. I give you the best thing I have, because you know what to do. I'm counting on you to keep her alive and maybe, just maybe one day one of my grandchildren will take over for you. Tyler or one of your other children. I'm counting on you Ben, please don't let me down. You take care of her and she will take great care of you each month. The shed does have a great income. You just wait and see my boy. 

Well, I think that is everything, oh wait, the money. I don't need to tell you what to do with that. Spend it on whatever you want. You want to go on vacation, do it. You need a new car, bye it. Tyler needs something you get it for him. The $25,000 is for Tyler for school. If he don't want to go to school, that money is his when he turns 18. Just be happy Benny, that's all I'm asking from you. Be happy and live. If you need anything just look up at the heavens and you will see me, smiling down at you.

By the time I was done reading the letter I had tears in my eyes. This man left everything for me. A man that wasn't his son in law, nor was a man that he raised, but with the love that he had he knew what to do with everything. I looked at my phone and called my mama. 

" Hello" Mama said to me. 

" Mama, what should Shiloh and I bring over for dinner?" I asked her. 

" You coming?" Mama asked me. I was walking to my bed room. Well I should say, trying to do it. 

" Yes we are. What time?" I asked her. 

" Is 6 okay with you?" Mama asked me. 

" Mama, that will be perfect." I said to her. 

" Great. I love having all of my family to be here?" Mama told me

" Well, the way your older son keeps on breeding you and dad will end up with more grand kids?" I said to her. 

" Yes, I can't wait to meet my new granddaughter?" Mama told me. 

" What makes you think it's a girl? It could be a boy this time?" I asked her. I was walking down to my bedroom. I still have 2 hours before Tyler will be here. I'm going to lie down for a while. 

" I just know my son and my daughter in law. They are going to only have girls." Mama said chuckling. 

" Okay mama whatever you say?" I said to her. 

" I do say." Mama said to me. I walked into the bedroom and saw Shiloh was laying on the bed. 

" Listen mama, I'll see you tonight okay." I said to her. 

" Okay love you honey." Mama said to me. 

" Love you too mama." I said to her, hanging up my cell phone. 

I laid down next to Shiloh and pulled her close to me. 

" Love you Benjamin." Shiloh said to me. 

" I love you too babe." I said to her. 

As I was laying in bed, I can hear John telling me what to do. He is right, I have to let go of the past and be the father Tyler needs and the man of Shiloh's dreams. I will do this and I will be the perfect man for my son and the love of my life.
