Halloween Prank

Chapter 2

Later that week, Kayla contemplated on Jessica's idea in her FACS class, writing down different ideas for the prank with her headphones in. The teacher continues to talk and stares at Kayla while doing so, yet Kayla doesn't pay attention.

"Kayla," the teacher calls out. Kayla still has her headphones in and writing ideas for the prank. Kayla's partner shakes her shoulder and references her to take her headphones out.

"What?"

"Take your headphones out and pay attention please, or give me your headphones."

"The bell is about to ring for lunch, so, I'll keep them," and as Kayla said that, the bell for lunch rang, her smiling as she walks out of the classroom knowing she made her point.

As Kayla walks out of the FACS room, she sees August at the vending machine and quickly runs over to him.

"August!"

"What's up?"

"Meet me in the music wing after school and bring some people with you. I have an idea for the prank."

"Alright. Did you already tell Jessica and Jeremiah?"

"No, I don't want them to be in it. Especially Jessica, I don't like her."

"Why don't you like her?"

"It doesn't matter, just don't tell those two. I'll make it up to Jeremiah later."

"Ok." The bell rings for class and Kayla walks away, August walking in the other direction. Jessica walks out of the girls' bathroom over hearing the conversation between August and Kayla, tears forming in her eyes because of what she just heard.

The school day goes on regularly as the teens continue to think of pranks to do.

The final bell rings to dismiss students for home as Kayla and August gather together some seniors in the music wing. Kayla stands on a chair and shouts out to get the crowd's attention. No one listens after the first time she shouts so she yells again. The crowd of seniors doesn't respond to it and continues to chatter amongst themselves. August finally shouts out to the crowd and everyone gets quiet.

"Thanks August. Now, you all know about the Halloween prank, right?" the crowd cheers and applauds after Kayla asked then gets back quiet again.

"Alright, so this is what August and I came up with. I know the majority of you have cars so we are going to use those in the prank as well."

The crowd murmurs in confusion.

"We host a huge Halloween party somewhere outside to where we will be able to drive our cars through. We'll invite everyone, but no one will think it's a prank. Half of us will even attend to give off a better reaction for the prank," Kayla starts.

"And a little bit into the party, the rest of us will crash it by driving through. But for this to work and no one get hurt, we will be keeping in contact with each other to make sure everything is set up right," August finishes.

"So wait, what will we do to get them out?" a guy from the crowd says.

"Someone will be in charge of getting everyone into the building for some cake or something to celebrate Halloween. Once everyone is in, that person will alert the rest of us and that's when we will drive around the building as if we are going to hurt someone: like a raid," Kayla answers.

"What if they see inside of the car?"

"Dude, it's Halloween, dress up!" Kayla replies playfully, smiling afterwards. "Also, give or take after about 5-10 minutes, have everyone make a run for it and we will begin a chase that way. It'll be fun! We'll have like a code like 'the party's going great' or something to let us know when to come through with the prank."

The crowd talks to one another about the prank as Kayla and August looks out at what they are saying.

"So ya'll down or what?" August asks impatiently.

"I don't like this idea. I mean, what if someone does get hurt? It could all just end badly. I say let's not do a prank or just choose a different one to do instead," a girl from the crowd speaks up as the crowd boos her.

"You really sound like Jessica right now, acting like a bitch," Kayla rudely exclaims.

"Excuse you? You want to come explain this to me in my face?" the girl from the crowd argues aggressively. She walks towards Kayla tying her hair into a ponytail ready to fight.

August stands in front of her to stop the fight. "Listen yo if you don't want to do the prank just leave. No one is stopping you."

The girl looks at Kayla who is sitting in the chair waving goodbye. The girl steps back and leaves the music wing, walking outside.

"Anybody else got a problem with the prank, feel free to leave as well," and as August said that, half of the crowd started to leave.

"So everyone else who is staying, you guys are in?" Kayla asks politely and the crowd agrees, Kayla smiling at what she has in mind.
