Days pass and school is in session. Jeremiah and Kayla walk down the hall together. Kayla tells him of the accident that August got into, mentioning how the doctors told her that August got into a car crash. She visited him earlier and all he did was scream out Jessica's name.
"All he kept saying was, 'Jessica...help...sorry'. Do you think that he actually-?"
"Kayla, really? HE's the one who made US promise to never mention it again. I know it's hard to forget, but we have to move on," Jeremiah says commandingly. Kayla sighs and agrees with him reluctantly and they walk off to get something to eat, Jeremiah's arm shaking slightly as he puts it around her. Kayla glances ahead of her and thinks she sees Jessica staring at her but she doesn't say anything to Jeremiah and keeps walking.
