Days pass as Halloween arrives. Jeremiah and Jessica sit doing homework over at Jessica's house, unaware of what the prank is. The room is silent and Jeremiah is focused into his homework while Jessica stares blankly at the wall.
"Hey, what did you get for number 7 Jessie?" Jessica stays silent and unmoved. Jeremiah looks at her and waves his pencil in front of her face and she blinks into focus.
"You okay?"
"Yea, I'm fine. Just, thinking on the prank that's all."
"Don't worry; we'll come up with something quick for tonight."
"Kayla and August already have Jay, and I overheard them talking at lunch and saying something about we're going to be in the prank as well."
"Quit being so paranoid Jess, we're good. Trust me."
"Yea, you're right. I'm just overreacting I guess," she pauses for a few seconds before continuing, "I got 'hypothermia' for number 7 by the way."
Jessica and Jeremiah continue working on their homework, forgetting about the prank. The night takes over the day as it gets late and Kayla and August meet up with the rest of the senior group at the school ready to commit the great Halloween prank. Everyone gets into their cars and drive off to the party.
"August, you're riding with me. So when our crew at the party gets everyone to make a run for it, we go find Jessica. Let's scare the hell out of her."
The two get in Kayla's car and drive off. As they drove out to the party, they saw Jeremiah walking alongside the road. Knowing he was going to the party, they offered him a ride but said nothing of the prank.
Kayla's phone rings, "August can you answer that for me?"
August picks up the phone and realizes it's from someone in the group.
"Kayla, that was James, he said the party's going great."
"Cool! Hang on, I know a shortcut."
The three friends drive on a different route to get to the party, Jeremiah unaware of what's going on.
"Yo, how long until we get to the party? And do any of you know if Jessica's there or not?" Jeremiah asks impatiently.
Nobody answers him and August looks at Kayla for what to do.
"Hello? Is anybody going to answer?" Jeremiah asks again.
"Oh, I see Jessica!" Kayla exclaims excitedly.
"Yo Jessica," August shouts out of the window.
"What are you two doing? Slow down," Jeremiah pleads.
Kayla doesn't listen and speeds up more, focused on the road. Jeremiah again urges Kayla to stop and hopes Jessica gets out of the way fast, though Jessica laughs as she remembers that this is probably the prank for Halloween and stands still. She notices that the car isn't slowing down or coming to a stop so she backs away slowly frightened.
The car doesn't slow down and Jessica begins to run away. Jeremiah shouts repeatedly at Kayla for her to stop but she doesn't listen. As they get closer to Jessica, Jeremiah leaps to the front seat and grabs the steering wheel distracting Kayla as she tries to regain control. August grabs the steering wheel aggressively to help Kayla drive straight again. They both try to move Jeremiah into the backseat but he fights back. Jessica stops and turns around watching the car swerve out of control. She tries to focus more onto the drivers and is paralyzed at who she sees.
"Jeremiah?" she questions herself softly.
The car drives closer to Jessica but she is frozen in fear, unable to move to safety. All three friends fight over the wheel to gain control, no one paying attention to the road ahead of them.
The three teens scream and fight until the car bumps up two times and everyone but Kayla lets go as she stops the car.
Everyone is quiet until Jeremiah breaks the silence in the car.
"Where's Jessica?" Jeremiah asks curiously but frightened. The three friends don't move at all and look at Kayla, she gripping the steering wheel with all her might, looking straight ahead with a dead gaze...
