I stared up at the church, before I touched the cold, sleak wood. Taking in a deep breathe, I slowly pushed the door open, exposing me to warmness and comfort of the church. Relaxing a bit, I pushed the door all the way opened and walked inside. I felt different when I enter the church, unlike all the other times I have stayed in them. I actually felt alive and comfortable inside the church. Looking around the place, I took all the interior features inside the church. Smiling to myself, I walked down the aisle and felt happy and alive even though I know I'm dead, but for some reason I don't feel like it. I feel more alive and radiant than dead.
I kept walking down the asile, but stopped on the third row. I feel a something deep and turned my head to the right to see a girl. She had blue hair that covered her face with her head bowed. She was on her knees praying something that was deep down from inside her. How do I know, I could feel the prayer radianting from the heart. I walked over to her and stood right beside her, with her on her knees. She then looked up at the ceiling.
Her brown eyes show happiness and tad bit of sorrow. She then looked straight and at the cross and mumbled something. I slightly tilted my head at her. She then looked in my direction. I didn't freeze for I got used for random people looking in my general direction, but this one was different. She slowly got up from her knees and walked towards me. I took a step back in surprise for she was looking straight at me, her eyes zone in on me.
"Hello," she whispered. I stayed silent, hoping she would just think of something in, but I was wrong. "Hello. I know someone is here. I can feel your presence." I slowly took a deep breathes in and out before I said something.
"Hello." She jumped back in shocked and I was just as confused as her. Usually, alive people couldn't here dead people, unless... I looked at her closely and studied her.
"Who's there," she said a little scared. I walked towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Instead of going through her, I could actually hold my hand on her. My eyes widen from the discovery and now I was the one freaking out. As I was mentally freaking out, she began to relax to my touch. Her eyes shown peace and calmness. I smiled and spoke again.
"I'm S-Natalie," I said stopping myself from saying my real name. I still didn't understand why I couldn't say my first name to anyone except to my mother and Jade. My angel and Blake already knew for being angels, but I still couldn't wrap my finger around the concept.
"Natalie," she said my name. I slowly nodded, even though I know she couldn't see me. "I'm Alice." I smiled hearing her name.
"It's nice to meet you Alice. How can you hear me?" She frozed to my question and hid her face from me.
"I-I don't really know." She looked back up at me. "Are you..." I didn't answer her and she understood. I then heard another pair of footsteps entering the church.
"There you are," I heard a voice. I looked up and see a blonde curly, blue eyed young lady. She stood with her hand on her hip, looking at Alice. "We've been looking for you all day." She rushed up to Alice and wrapped her arms around her. Alice signed, but hugged her back. When they unwrapped themselves, the blonde haired girl chuckled. "I figure you'll be in a church. I just don't understand why I haven't check here first." I giggled to her little comment.
"Sorry, Ashley. I just needed time to think to myself." Ashley's nodded, but her eyes shown relief and joy in them. She motion her to follow her.
"Come on. It's time that we headed home." Alice looked in my general direction, before she walked right beside Ashley. Ashley smiled and whispered something to hear, making Alice giggled. I smiled remembering all the times Jade did that to me. Remembering that made tears build up in my eyes, which I wiped immediantely. I watched as they headed for the big wooden doors, but before both of them were out of sight, I heard a faint, but clear voice:
