Lou Ellen Meriweather was beautiful.

That's what everyone thought and what everyone believed. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

Most of the time.

People would tell her her voice was clear and loud and melodic. They would tell her her hair was silky and never unkempt. They would wonder how she never had any zits or if her eye color was just contacts.

She didn't look like that.

Whenever she spoked it was scratchy, not to mention b*tchy. She had frizzy curls that bounced right back up whenever she brushed them. Her clear skin hid zits for one day max before she did anything about them. Her eye color was real, though.

Lou Ellen realized she used to be beautiful.

She changed when he died.

She had always wondered what she would've been like had TK never shown up in her life. Now she knew.

Look in the mirror.

A voice told her to do things. She used to never listen. But now she did.

Lou Ellen looked in the mirror.

What do you see?

Worthless. Ugly. Dependent. Scared. Weak. The list went on.

Her hand met the hilt of her sheathed knife.

Do it.

The blade kissed her skin.

That night, she cried for TK to come back and help her. To save her from what she will become.

Lou Ellen changed.

Because the boy she loved was gone.
