~~Duncan's POV~~

"Tara, we need to go." I attempt to tug her away.

"No! Not without Rythian." She looks up at me, eyes flooding with tears.

"We can take the body, but there's no way Rythian can be revived." I explain.

"I don't care, I just want to show the body. I don't want Zoey to be lied to, she needs to know..." Tara wipes dark purple blood away from her cheek.

"Needs to know what?" I ask, confused. I really didn't expect Rythian to lose. Everything's spinning around at once in my head.

"She needs to know that the love of her life is dead." She explains honestly. "And that there's a slim chance that he's coming back."

"Okay, I'll take his flying ring." I walk up to Rythian's body solemnly, closing his eyes in respect before slipping the silver and yellow ring off his finger. "I'll miss you, Rythian."

"Please, take his body. I don't want to." Tara stands up, brushing herself down. The crowd don't stop cheering, even as they dismiss themselves from the stands around. I nod, slipping one arm under Rythian's neck and flip him over my shoulder. The lifeless body settles there, as if it was moulded for my shoulder and not to stay alive. Blood splatters over my neck, but I don't care. I'm past caring, caring has only ever got me hurt.

"He was a great soldier." I say to Tara, lifting myself up off the gravel. "And a brilliant friend."

"Even when you were totally crazy he was there for you." Tara agrees, flying up to join me. "It's a big shock."

"We will miss him. And from personal experience, I know that Rythian's up there listening in. So, Rythian, it was great knowing you." I force a smile, looking up.

~~Rythian's POV~~

"Rythian." Amber nods.

"Skylord Amber. Great to see you again." I reply.

"And you. Wow, didn't expect that." She smiles. "I need to give some money to Skylord Jasper now."

"You were betting on me?" I smirk.

"Maybe." Her red hair dances in the wind. It reminds of Zoey. Where is she right now? "I'm here to discuss your resting place. Well, you're here."

"What about it?" I ask.

"Do you want to go to the Aether or the End?" She turns serious.

"Neither."

"You don't want to be with your Mother?" She asks, furrowing her brow.

"Not particularly. I want to be with my family." I explain.

"You can't."

"Why not, Amber? Duncan got a second chance. He didn't deserve one, but I respect the decision you made." I cross my arms. "Surely I can have a second chance too?"

"Duncan was stupid. I gave him a second chance to learn. But you know everything, you've seen everything. You dont need fixing."

"My daughter does. Because my daughter's Mother never knew her Father, and when Zoey's Mother passed she was left alone. Lucky for Zoey, I was there. But who will be there for Anna?"

"I see your point. Let me talk to Jane." Amber sighed, getting a small emerald out. She rubbed it and a purple glow emitted from the small gem.

"Amber? Did you want me?" I hear the voice before I see the person, but instantly recognise it as my Mother's.

"It's about Rythian here." Amber smiles to a.presented behind me. I turn to see Mother smiling at me, just a few metres away.

"Mother?" I ask. The woman nods. It's my Mother. My Mother.
