Back at home
"WHAT?!" Dad hollered.
"I-I'm sorry, Dad.."
He shook his head. "Unbelievable!" He muttered, pacing back and fourth.
I rested my head in my palms and stared at the floor. "I was just thinking about me, you, and mo-"
"I don't care what you were doing!" He interrupted.
"I said I was sorry!" I fought.
Dad paced and paced, sighing deeply. He ran his fingers through his brown hair. "I can't believe you, Cassie!" He shouted.
"I told you I was sorry! Why do we have to keep arguing? You used to love me, but now I'm questioning! What is making you like this?!"

"Sweetie..You don't really think I don't love you, do you?" He asked gently.
Cassie nodded into her palms.
"Oh, sweetie.." He said.
"I'm sorry, it's just- with your Mother gone, things have been hard." He looked at me and smiled weakly. "But I love you, no matter how much you daydream in school." He chuckled softly.
My crying quieted. I stood, without looking at my father and got a tissue. I returned to his arms and cried.
"I miss Mom," I said quietly.
He stroked my hair softly, tearing up.
"Me too, hon. Me too.."
