Chapter 17 - "Revenge or Love?"

Levi and Hanji enter the police department. Levi looks around to find Eren but doesn't see him anywhere. He walks up to Erwin. "Where is Eren?" he asks, looking up to the tall man. "He said he'll come back, but it's been thirty minutes..." Erwin answers worriedly. Hanji turns around and sees Petra running inside the department. She breathes tiredly and tries walking faster to Levi. Levi turns around. "Petra?" he says blinking.

"C-captain," she speaks still breathing. "This is bad..." Levi looks confused. "What happened?" he asks. Petra explains the whole situation. Everyone's faces are in shock. Levi bites his lip of anger. "I warned you, Captain. Why did you accept him?!" Erwin shouts.

"I don't know..." Levi replies whispering. Erwin's face looks more angry. "That's not an answer! Tell me, why?!" Erwin says louder.

Levi furrows his eyebrows, "I said I don't know!" he shouts loudly which made everyone shocked. Erwin hesitates to say anything. "His desperate face... I couldn't ignore it, I guess." Levi whispers.

Levi leaves the department without saying anything. Everyone looks worried. "He's gonna look for him..." Hanji says still looking at Levi's back.

Jean steps off of his bike and walks to Eren's appartment. He knocks on his door. Eren opens it, without his shirt on. He looks terrible. His eyes are swollen, and his hair is messy. The inside of his room is dark. 

"Jean...?" he mumbles, rubbing his eyes. Jean smirks staring at Eren's whole body. "Did you know Eren, that the real me is not the me you used to know? The friends I've introduced to you were actually bad people, including me. I was even impressed how nice they could act when they're actually jerks." Eren was about to close the door but couldn't because of Jean's foot. Eren's furious eyes turn to Jean. "Leave." he says with a deep voice. Jean couldn't stop grinning.

"You look very sexy when you're angry." he says amusing. Eren loudly bumps his fist against the side of the door which made Jean surprised. Eren clenches his fist but let it fall weakly. Jean notices it and smirks. He grabs Eren's arm and starts kissing it 'till his ear. "You don't mind, right?" he whispers in his ear. Eren's eyes are half-open like he didn't care what would happen to him. Jean holds his head and starts kissing his neck. As Jean was about to unzip Eren's pants, he falls on the ground by a hard fist.

"Don't touch him with your dirty ass fingers." Levi says with a pissed-off face before Jean falls on the ground unconsciously.  Eren looks shocked and then his face changes into a deadly angry. He walks up to Levi and punches him harsly in the face. Levi falls on the floor with a nosebleed. Eren sits on top of Levi and firmly grabs his coat.

"Why? Why did you kill my dad?!" Eren screams, like he's about to cry, but holds in his angry expression. Levi doesn't say anything while staring deep in Eren's green, furious eyes.

"Why aren't you saying anything?!" Eren shouts again.

"Your dad was a criminal." Levi speaks quietly. Eren's eyes directly widen.

"What... what did you say?" he asks shockedly.

"You were still a kid then, so you didn't know anything about your dad. The only thing you saw was his smile, and how he played with you, but secretly, he was a very sly criminal. He experimented people by killing them and looking in their insides. He could kill you too, but it'd be very suspicious and he'd be arrested. I killed him, because just arresting him wasn't enough. The thing he did was an addict to him, so he'd continue doing it even if we set him free. Believe me or not, it's up to you." Levi explains, still with his usual expression.

"You're lying!" Eren shouts. "D-dad couldn't... he... he couldn't do something like that!" Eren snaps with a shaky voice. His tears drop on Levi's face. Levi keeps looking at Eren's teary eyes. "Those eyes... it's like that time. I hate it..." Levi thinks. He puts his hand inside his pocket and takes a gun out. Eren widens his eyes confusedly.

Levi passes the gun to Eren's hand.

"What are you doing?!" Eren asks loudly.

Levi isn't impressed. He's  like he doesn't care about anything. Even not about how his scattered hair that's lying on the dusty ground.

"You can kill me, Eren." Levi whispers. Eren looks shocked, with the gun in his shaking hand.

"Also, thank you for the handkerchief." Levi says taking out the handkerchief Eren gave him. "I washed it."

Eren couldn't close his mouth and more tears came out of his eyes.

"Revenge or love?" was the only thing he heard in his mind. He holds the gun with both his hands and places it against Levi's forehead. Levi doesn't move an inch. Eren's hands shake and he places his finger against the trigger.

And...

he throws it away. Levi looks surprised. He was actually prepared to die.

Eren slowly grabs Levi's head and kisses his forehead, with closed, teary eyes.

Levi's eyes slowly widen after Eren wraps his arms around him.

"Thank you... for saving many people lives." Eren whispers crying. "I can't kill you... because..." Eren firmly grabs Levi's coat again and looks deep in his eyes.

"Because I love you, Levi!" he screams in the whole building. Levi's mouth is half-open and his eyes are shaking. He lifts his back up and hugs Eren tightly, while Eren loudly is crying on his shoulder.

"I... love you too." Levi says quietly.

Eren's eyes widen when Hanji, Erwin, Petra and all the polices appear behind them. They all looked worried and no one could say anything. Levi turned to them and was also surprised.

Eren smiles at them and everyone looks relieved. Hanji walks up to Eren.

"Eren, do you... do you still wanna work with us?!" she asks loudly and worriedly.

Eren stands up rubbing of the tears.

"Let's save the world, everyone." he says with a confident expression. Everyone looks impressed by his words and start smiling.

"Yes!"

Levi watches his squad and a small smile appears on his face.
