Chapter 1:
It was a sunny september morning. I was awaken by the sound of my mother's voice calling my name.
"Julie?...Julie? Wake up. Time to go to school"
Oh crap! I totally forgot! It was my first day at the new school. We had just moved to a new town and I didn't know anyone. Actually, I really didn't care.
"Can't I just stay home?!" I grunted.
"Certainly not young lady! I expect you to be ready in 15 minutes. Hurry up!" she said and walked out.
I could hear her walk down the stairs and in to the kitchen.
"Arrrgh!" I yelled as I finally got out of bed. I didn't want to go to school. Not just yet. I hated being 'the new weird girl' all over again.
We had moved a couple of times before and I always had to go to a new school. Which really sucked by the way!
I went to the bathroom, took a quick shower and went to get dressed. But what the heck should I wear? I just hated those days, where you didn't know what to put on. After about five minutes, I decided on a black tee with "You don't wanna mess with me" written all over it in red, black skinny jeans, a black studded belt and my favorite converse.
"That should do it" I said to myself.
I dried and straightened my long black hair as fast as I could. I was already 2 minutes late and I knew how mom hated it when I was late. In a hurry I started doing my make-up, when my mom yelled at me to hurry up. i decided to finish in the car.
I grabbed my school bag, and ran downstairs. Mom was already in the car, waiting. I sat in.
"Why do you always have to take so long" she asked annoyed.
"Dunno mom, I guess I'm just slow when it comes to getting ready for school"
I reached in my bag for my make-up and started applying eye-liner and shadow. I looked in the mirror. I noticed that my skin had become a tone paler than usual. Probably just the weather I thought. I then took a look at my hair, and messed it up a bit (I like messy hair *wink wink*).
"Do you always have to look so messy? And why do you have to wear so much eye-liner?" She said while trying to straighten my hair out, but without succes.
"Mom, isn't it obvious? It's because I want to look like this!"
She sighed and gave up trying to argue with me, but when she had a closer look at me she flipped.
"Don't tell me you pierced your ear again?! (She hated piercings and always tried to make me take those I had, out). How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want it?! Normal girls don't look like you do!"
It just came out of her mouth and it hurt.
"Why do I always have to look the way you want me to?!!" I yelled at her.
I was hurt. It hurt to hear your own mother talk to you like that. If I was some kind of big dissapointment. I knew deep inside that she didn't mean to say it like that, but the mistake was already made. I felt frustrated and angry. None of us said another word till we pulled up by the school.
"I'll pick you up later" she said
"No, I'll walk home. No need to bother yourself." I answered as I got out of the car.
