Another morning. He looked down, his gloves were still on. He slowly removed his gloves to look back. Non crispy fleshy human hands. He let out a sigh of relief. It was about time he left. He hopped into his mom's car. School was alright that day. After school James and his friends decided to go into the forest behind the school. James went home, packed a lunch, shoved it into his book bag, and asked his mom to drive him to his only friends house where they would go to get his other friend. His mom agreed and soon enough they were in the forest. It was a fun trip, they jumped, climbed, played, ate, and overall had a good time. One thing they did was cross rocks to the other side of the river. After a long time of taking photos and exploring they headed back only to notice that the current was so strong that the rocks had been pushed away. "Oh god" James said as he realised the full potential of this situation. "Look over there! If we jump in that way it will push us the rocks left standing!" James friend Mike said "Yeah good" Mark replied "My mom would kill me" James said. "It's fine, I have extra clothes at my house we can all say we were trying on a new style" Mike replied "I don't know if she would believe that" "If we act legit she will think it's legit!" Now saying a plan and doing a plan are two entirely different things. "Alright me first" Mike said. He made some distance and jumped as far as he could into the water, but before he could even think he was being pushed. Mike quickly extended his hand and gripped the rock, slowly pulling himself up. "Alright Mark get over here" Mark did the same but missed the rock. "Oh no you don't" Mike said grabbing Mark and pulling him on. "Mark get going! James come on!" James made distance and jumped in but something felt wrong, really wrong. His hands felt stiff and crumbly and his feet were stuck. His legs turned into dirt up to his ankle. "OH GO-" James let out loudly as the rough current shoved him under, choking on the water and with a stinging nose he started flailing. Pushing against the ground he felt something tear. The dirt turned to mud. James was shut through. Mike extended his body and hand "GRAB ON!" James grabbed on and Mike let out a loud scream and let go of James. James grabbed onto the rock and looked at the giant cut in Mike's hands. He than looked at his own hand, nothing but jagged rocks in the shape of his hand. He gripped onto the boulder that was left and shouted "Mike I am so sorry! I am so sorry!" "WHAT WAS THAT JAMES!" "I don't know what's going on but every day... LOOK!" James dragged his hand out of the water and showed him his hand. Mike let out a startled cry and jumped back which nudged the rock even more. James body weight plus Mike's PLUS that kick back. The rock came out and slid away. James and Mike were sent down the current.
