Flashback: Luke

"I couldn't ever think of leaving you. You're the only thing that keeps me breathing."
"Liar. But that's a good song."
"I'm not lying. I love you."
"I love you too, Lukey. You're like the brother I never had."
Ouch.
"Yeah. Brother."
Michael smiled at me.
I faked a smile.
"What's wrong?"
Michael could see right through me.
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
I nodded and he sighed.
"Alright. Well I'm going to sleep now. It's late."
Michael reached up and shut off his bedside lamp and curled up in his bed.
I layed my head down on my arm and stared up at him from my spot on the floor.
"Get up here you loser."
Michael's eyes opened and he grinned, moving over to make room for me.
I crawled into his bed and Michael smiled at me before turning to face the other direction.
I smiled to myself.

Flashback: Michael

Even though it's cold as all hell and this stupid cabin in the middle of nowhere pissed me off, there's no place I'd rather be.
I was on winter break with Luke and we were sharing a room.
I could hear his soft snores and I turned to face him.
I couldn't help but smile. He looked like an angel.
His blonde hair was messy and he looked so peaceful. I wanted to kiss his perfect lips and cuddle him close.
His eyes fluttered open.
"What are you doing so close?"
I bit my lip.
"I just woke up and I was about to wake you up."
That was a lie. I'd been awake for awhile now just listening to his peaceful snores.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
Luke sat up which caused the covers to fall away from his bare chest.
Turn away, Michael. Don't be creepy. Don't stare.
My cheeks flushed red and I jumped up and walked to the closet immediately.
Luke followed close behind.
"Mikey, you look cold."
"I'm not."
Another lie. I was shaking.
"You're shaking."
I shrugged and Luke put an arm around me.
"Goddamn how are you so warm?"
I turned and buried my face in his chest.
I could feel him shrug.
I could stay like this forever. I just wanted Luke to keep my in his arms forever.
But forever ended too quickly and Luke let go of me and cleared his throat.
"Maybe we should get dressed."
"Y-yeah."
Luke started singing a familiar tune.
"I couldn't ever think of leaving you. You're the only thing that keeps me breathing."
