Skye and I were sandwiched between Zurk and his forces on one side and the other forces that were responsible for the city on the other side. We were completely outnumbered and outmatched. Zurk quickly ordered that Skye be taken prisoner again, and I was left to face Zurk alone.

"And so it finally comes down to this, eh Malique? A mortal-immortal soul against an all-powerful god."

"Yes Zurk, something your father had decided that it would happen."

He looked at me, his golden eyes flashing with anger at the very mention of his father.

"Well if you ask me, my father planned foolishly. How can he send you to do his job? Such cowardice! How does he expect you to defeat me?"

I only looked at him, but I was also saying a silent prayer for protection.

"You know what, I'll spare you the embarrassment and the humiliation that you know is coming and is inevitable. Just surrender peacefully and I will let you and your mortal friend here go home and all will be fine. I'll leave you to your work, and you will leave me to mine, and everything will be just like it never happened before."

"Your sweet words will never win me over Zurk, and you know it. You also know that nothing will be fine once I agree to your twisted terms, so I would suggest that we stop the chatter and begin fighting."

"Then fine. Prepare to regret why you even set foot here!"

As he said that sentence, he suddenly extended his hands towards my direction and I was suddenly flung from where I stood, and I hit the city wall. I cried out in pain because of the burn, but just as I had told Skye, I cracked the wall and made it deeper. Zurk had not given me a chance to breathe when he suddenly ran towards me with his unsheathed golden sword and swung it in my direction. I quickly avoided the blade and as I scrambled to get away from the wall and his deadly weapon, I swung my sword and managed to hit him on his leg. He was, however faster than I was and his elbow caught my lower jaw and he threw me further away. He looked at the cut on his leg, but to him it was more of a scratch really, and he charged at me again. From the ground where I was, I saw him quickly running towards my direction and I had to roll on the ground to avoid being struck by his sword. The sword, as I realised, sent a small jolt of electricity that stung me. I shuddered to imagine what the sword would have done to me if it actually struck me.

I quickly stood up and tried to cut him with my sword but he caught my arm and again threw me against the wall. I hit it with a very loud bang, and again I got burnt, simultaneously also cracking the wall. I never got the chance to stand up before he had grabbed me and slammed me against the wall.

"Arrrrrgh!" I screamed in complete pain.

He pushed me further onto the wall, and I fully cracked and broke it, leaving a very big and gaping hole. He let go of me, and I struggled to get up albeit the pain that I felt.

"You see father? Look at the pathetic excuse for a mortal you sent to attack me! He's weak! Worthless! What were you even thinking?" He shouted as he looked up.
