"What is going on here?" I asked.
My head was spinning around and paining. I found myself looking at Skye and his relieved expression.
"Skye? Is that you?"
"Great, you're awake! Finally!"
"Awake? Why? What had happened?"
"You were knocked out cold earlier on, but gratefully you are awake."
I tried to move my hands but I was chained onto the wall. Looking around the room, it had changed from what it had been previously to the dark and cold room it was now. I looked at Skye again.
"Now I remember. I was trying to free you from your ball and I was thrown onto the wall and...and how did you get out of the ball? I thought you were still inside!"
"Zurk isn't as clever as he thought he was. The ball he trapped me in was weak. He stretched the glass material too thin, and I only had to crack it to free myself."
"Then why was I thrown across the room when I touched it?"
"He placed a protection spell on the ball's surface so that you wouldn't reach and free me. I tried to warn you about that, but you wouldn't listen."
"Then how is it that I am chained to the wall? How did that happen?"
"He came into the room when you had been knocked down and he chained you up himself. He then turned and left, although I do not know where."
"He came into the room? How? I sneaked all the way here but I never even met him!"
"He just came out of the darkness, that's all."
We looked at each other, a little surprised at what had happened.
"Ok then, here, help me get out of these chains and I'll sneak you back out of this place."
"Not until you tell me why you were not there to protect me when I needed you the most. Where were you anyway?"
"I'll tell you later; just help me out from here!"
"No, Malique! You broke your promise of protection when I needed you the most. Did you know he almost killed me? They tore up my apartment! Everything I own has been destroyed!"
"Hey! Keep your voice down or he'll hear us!"
"Then let him hear us! I don't care! You hurt me pretty bad back there you know, and I'm not sure if I can even trust you again."
"I hurt you? How?"
"When I was there desperately needing your help to come and defend me, and you never answered me! I had thought you were probably captured and maybe overpowered by those demons of his, but when Zurk had told me that you let me all alone to my fate..."
