I watched as Bruchus took the lead as he led the army through the veil into the physical world. I had requested to be left behind, since I still had a few things that I had yet to plan. We had earlier received information that Zurk's forces had made camp at the Alpi Mountains near the Potter's Valley, and it was where Bruchus was to lead the troops to. I wished them luck as I watched them leave, placing upon them the sign of blessing and praying for their protection.
"Go in peace, my brother. Bring us victory, even in the physical plane." I said as I grasped Bruchus' hand in greeting.
"And to you to, my brother. Protect Skye as you would yourself." He said, and then left.
As soon as they were gone, I was left to my thoughts. I began to wonder why Zurk had decided to take the war into the surface world. Not that it would really matter to the living since anyway they would have no clue about what was about to happen, but it still made me worry. I decided then that I would not dwell on that yet, and then prepared to leave to go and stay with Skye. Leaving a few people at the main camp, I ordered them to inform me of whatever would be happening, both there and in the war that would be going on the surface world.
As I put on my amour, I couldn't help but remember the times when I had to fight to get the amour that I now wore. Although it changed severally over time, I finally was made one suit of armour that was long-lasting. As I stared at myself, I chuckled a little since I saw that the suit made me look a little big. However, the few upgrades that were made to it made it look battle-worthy, and I never minded. I knew I had to be prepared for anything if the worst should have happened. I picked up the sword that was lying next to my helmet and admired the gilded handle and the detail to its gold inlay. The blade was polished, and I got to see the dragon-like pattern that it beared. Beneath it, was the symbol for my country that I had personally engraved. It was an eagle in flight. In its beak it carried a banner that had an inscription written on it, and on its talons it held a sword and arrows. The inscription, as I ran my hand over the emblem, read as follows: I SEEK TO FIGHT FOR HONOUR, AND I DIE FOR GLORY.
"Indeed," I said to myself as I read the inscription, "For honour and for glory."
I sheathed the sword and picked up my helmet, before leaving to go back into the physical world.
When I arrived at Skye's apartment, I found out that he was busy in the bathroom taking a shower, and so had no idea that I had arrived. I sat down at the chair that was in his living room and waited for him to be done with what he was doing.
"Enjoyed your shower, Skye?" I asked as he walked into the room, towel on his head.
He turned suddenly when he heard my voice, startled and shocked.
"Whoa! You startled me! What are you doing here?"
"Just thought I would visit."
"Jeez Malique, next time send a messenger now won't you? I may have been in my underwear for all I know!" He said, as he removed the towel and let his damp hair air-dry.
"Ok. I will do that. So, what are you up to since we last met?" I asked.
