His muscular arms pull up the helmet and reveals his red/orange hair.

"Kevin?" I croak.

That moment replays over and over in my head.

After all of those years..

After all the-

Kevin wasn't-

I feel my face go red again, but not from blushing.

My eye sight started becoming blurry as tears began finding their way down my cheeks.

I can't be seen like this!
They'll never leave me alone if they find out.

My heart pounding feet pounding as I run away from the field.

I'm sure I was getting some attention, but then again we had just won a big game moments ago.

My running becomes numb and the rhythm of my feet pounding into the concrete gets to where it feels like it is part of me.

Kevin's POV

My instincts kick in when I caught the ball. All those times I had practiced this payed off, before I had realized it I had cross over the line and the buzzer went off. Meaning I won us our winning point.

Everyone chanted my name.
My team picked me up and carried me.
I couldn't help but laugh, what a relief.
I take of my helmet to help me see everything around me more.

I laugh at the feeling of relief I get from knowing I didn't let anyone down.

The sky is a ugly gray, a warning sign that it will rain soon. When I look down from one of the clouds I see a blur running away from the field. The opposite way of everyone else.
All I could manage to make out was what seemed to be a cheer uniform. I was snapped out of my head with,

"Great job Kevin!"

"Wait to go!"

"Congratulations!"

Are some of the things I heard from distant unfamiliar voices. I didn't want to hear it, though.

-time skip-

"Let's go celebrate!" One of the guys on my team yells.

He is agreed with by many of the other people on the team.

They all rush to get to the locker rooms, while I stay back. I don't know what came over me, but I knew I couldn't go tonight.

"C'mon Barr, we need our reason to celebrate," coach yells to me from where he stood on the other side of the field.

I shake my head no. "I think I'm going to go home and shower!"
I turn and go toward my motorcycle.

I will get my things in my locker tomorrow. I just have a feeling I need to get home.

While driving home the sun set and the moon rose shinning bright. It was a full moon tonight. The streets were illuminated with the orangish-lights and the night's breeze rustled the leaves

When I pull in my drive way and park I hear a strange noise like a puppy sneezing.

Maybe it was a puppy.
They were probably lost.
If I lost my dog I want him/her back, that is if I had one.
I should go find it.

I walking down my drive way and toward the noise across the street. The noise gets a little louder, but it isn't outside. I look up at the building in front of me and realize it is Double dork's house.

Should I go in and see what that sound is?

I couldn't that make Double D think I'm rude.

Why do I care what Double Dweeb thinks?!

I knock on the door.

No response, but the noise continues.

I'm going to hate myself for, before I finish my thought the puppy-sneezing sound changes to a loud thud.

What just happened?

You know what screw it!

I look around at the front of Double Dork's house and I notice a drain pipe leading up the side of the house to a ledge of a window.

I walk to it, God I hope I don't fall.

Stop- stop! Think straight, if you don't focus you will fall.

I grab on to the smooth pipe higher than my head and start using my upper body strength to pull myself up. I continue this  upward monkey bar motion till I am next to the window ledge. I extend one hand, still holding on to the pipe with the other, and pull myself toward the ledge. After getting confident in my hold on the ledge I let go off the pipe and climb onto the ledge.

God I made it. I sit down, facing toward my house, that was a nice work out I suppose.
Why did I come up here again?
Oh yeah, that thud sound!!
I turn to face the window.
I reach to feel the glass, but my hand touches his blinds.
He probably should get his window fixed.

I push the blinds forward and bend, in right foot first making sure not to hit my head on the tough blinds.

It is dark in this room of the house.
After a few seconds my eyes adjust to the room's lighting.

It was very clean in this room. It was simple though. A twin sized bed, desk, and closet.

'Kevin, get back on track! The thud!,' I remind myself.

Yes. Yes, the thud. I walk to the door and open it.

"Double dork?" I call. The hallway felt long as I walked, feeling the wall toward a crack of light toward the end of the hallway.

"Double D?" I call again.

This is like out of a fucking horror movie!

I reach the end of the hallway right next to the door.

It is quiet.

I grab the knob and twist.

It is unlocked.

When the door opens I wasn't at all prepared for what I saw.

"Edd?" I hear myself say.
