Edd's POV
-Present day-
[2nd day of school]I got up early this morning, showered, and put on my now clean white button-up, green vest, jeans that fit me, and then I slipped my black hat on over my black hair.
-time skip-
"Today gentlemen,
We are going to change the world," Eddy started giving Ed and I a pep-talk about their 'do sports to get girls' scam."Ed, you will try out for football."
"I will try out for Cross Country," Eddy continued.
"What about me?" I asked.
"Hmm.. Sockhead, you do cheerleading," Eddy replied.
"Why cheerleading?" I asked, not that I have anything against male cheerleaders, I just didn't see why they got to do those and said I should do this.
Eddy thought for a couple seconds, "Well... Double D, you are the only one of us to have the correct spirit for something like that. Ed and I, we can't do that type of thing, but you could."
I sigh, "alright."
High school. No, I mean Hell school.-time skip-
[after school at try-outs]I can't believe I am trying out for cheerleading, what was I thinking when I told Eddy I would do it. I don't even think how Eddy thought girls would like this.
I was ripped out of my thoughts when a voice called "Edd your next!"
I proceeded to take my spot in front of the the table. This is embarrassing, but here goes nothing.
I did the moves they taught us today and I had thought it over in my head so many times it was as if I didn't need to think about it. My body did it all naturally, almost.
A while after I finished my tryout they called us all into a group.
"All right everyone," the Cheer Captain yelled.
"We have who made it and the ones who didn't. Your results are posted on the wall outside of the gym."Before I could turn to go that way I was being shoved by a group of girls. As if I hadn't had enough embarrassment today already, I ended up on the gym floor.
I pushed myself up, wiped off my clothes, and walked outside the door. I was the last one to find out my results.
As I waited I heard girls cheering they got in and girls crying on the phone because they didn't get in.
Wow, I didn't know that cheerleading means that much to girls.
When I am finally face to face with the paper, I look through the first column, not there.
Then I look through the second column, no-oh wait I am. The last name, was mine. I read over the list again, yeah I was there and I was the only boy. What a way to end my high school years.
"Congratulations," I hear a voice that makes me jump. It couldn't be, I thought she and her family had moved. I turn around to become face to face with none other than Marie Kanker, the middle sister of the Kanker sisters. She has short blue hair, blue eyes, blue eyeshadow, a black tank top (that doesn't cover all her stomach- not that I was staring), green pants, and to top off her look she has black fingernail polish. She was known for having a crush on me.
"Thank you," I reply.
She smiles, "Anytime. I actually tried out earlier but they told me that I couldn't because I didn't fit the image of a cheerleader."
I frown feeling kind of sad for her, "oh I am sorry. That wasn't nice of them."
"Yeah but whatever. Now I can have a reason to watch you- I mean the team at practice."
At this point I had been creeped out, "well Marie, it was nice catching up but I must be going. Maybe we could finish our talk another time." I don't wait for her response I speed walk away.
