My lonely heart calls
....................................................
Around school, Scott would catch glimpses of the little romance that was Allison and Isaac. It just about killed him, but, since people actually knew about the two of them, they would gush about it. If only they knew how cute he and Allison had been.

At rehearsal the day before the day of the performance, Scott found one particular song to be relatable.

On that particular song, Allison played the lead guitar part on her bass so that Stiles could be left to belt it out freely with his rhythm guitar. In the back, Scott got to clap a little as well as drum, and it was turning out to a totally lively tune.

Allison absolutely loved her part for it because it was really bouncy and fun. To her the song was just another lighthearted jam.

Jessie is a friend,
Yeah, I know he's been a good friend of mine
But lately something's changed
It ain't hard to define
Jessie's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine

Stiles allowed his lips to brush his mic as he sang, loving the feeling of rehearsing on a stage. They'd never gotten to rehearse at their venue before, so the fact that the school was letting them was totally cool.

And she's watching him with those eyes
And she's lovin' him with that body, I just know it!
And he's holding her in his arms late, late at night

From his seat, Scott nearly laughed. It was so accurate for him - this was exactly how he felt when he saw Allison and Isaac together at school.

You know I wish that I had Jessie's girl
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
Where can I find a woman like that?

I play along with the charade
That doesn't seem to be a reason to change
You know I feel so dirty when they start talking cute
I wanna tell her that I love her but the point is probably moot

Allison was dancing along on the front with Stiles, and Scott admired her from afar. Her dance moves were not exactly graceful, but he enjoyed the slight goofiness she had to herself. She didn't take herself too seriously.

And I'm lookin' in the mirror all the time
Wonderin' what she don't see in me
I've been funny; I've been cool with the lines
Ain't that the way love's supposed to be?

As his drum part picked up, along with the guitar, he banged his head along, biting his lip. He was totally into it, and when Allison turned around, she couldn't help but blush.

When he saw that she was looking right at him, he decided to make a statement.

His moment was coming, and he knew it. Into the middle of the song, he yelled,

Tell me!

and she immediately stared down at her hands, which fumbled the progression just a little bit.

Why can't I find a woman like that?

The day of the performance dawned, and Allison felt anything but ready. Performing in front a bunch of strangers was one thing, but in front of their peers was flat out terrifying.

In her bedroom, she spent an hour just on her hair. With the greatest finesse, she curled her hair to fake the volume of a perm. She topped that with a thick pink headband, and laughed. She loved the curls, but felt like an idiot with the signature piece, so she took it back off. She coated her eyelids with bright blue shadow and liner that made the brown in her eyes pop, and then swept a bright pink over her lips. For clothes, she chose a bright green tank under a leather jacket, and a tutu skirt. After she stepped into her fishnets and heels, she was ready to go.
