I can't look at the stars; they make me wonder where you are.

Allison had been ignoring Isaac's texts and calls and dodging him all throughout the second day of school. Every time she turned a corner, she held her breath. She wasn't afraid of Isaac, but she was afraid of making a decision about him. Making a decision about Isaac was also like making a decision about Scott, and she wasn't ready to do that, although Scott was pretty sure she already had.

When Allison closed her locker door, however, he was there.

"You have thirty seconds," she deadpans, and leans back against the locker door, head turned to look him in the eye.

Isaac cleared his throat, blue eyes glancing around nervously and bags under his eyes purpler than usual from lack of sleep. He towered over her, a lot taller than Scott, and she had to look up to his face. He had more feminine features than Scott, a different kind of handsome, and his hair sat in angelic curls on top of his head. She had to admit that he was a marvelous looking human being, but she couldn't help but compare him to Scott, who was manly in every way.

She realized she had missed everything he said.

"Can you say all that again?"

He sighed, rolling the little oceans that lived in his eye sockets, but still smiling. Isaac thought it was cute how she got so lost in thought. "I'm sorry for reacting that way last night. I was high off adrenaline and I'm not used to seeing that side of you. But I really would like to try again, like a real date."

Allison smiled, dimples forming and eyes warm, "I'd like that." She liked hearing those things. Maybe things weren't working out for her and Scott, but that didn't mean she couldn't try again with somebody else, and God knows she gave Scott countless chances to fix things. Isaac deserved at least one.

At that at exact moment, she heard Scott's voice from behind her, talking to Stiles about a math test they had next period, and she grabbed a fistful of Isaac's sweater.

"Do me a favor?" she breathed, her voice sweet and innocent.

"Mmhm?" he raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips, letting one hand find the small of her back, yet shocked by her touch.

"Kiss me right now."

Allison knew it was wrong to use Isaac to make Scott jealous, but frankly, she didn't care. As an added bonus, if they could get the awkward first kiss out of the way, their first date wouldn't be totally painful.

The tall boy's other hand find her waist, and he nudged her closer to him. As he leaned down into her, Allison met him half way, rising onto her tiptoes and allowing their lips to meet. She cupped his face in her hands. Even his kisses were different than Scott's.

Scott's generally-chapped lips would find hers with a passion and hunger like no other. Even in this moment, she craved the roughness of it, because it always seemed so gentle. Isaac's were like plump pillows, soft and smooth, and he approached her gently and nervously. She smiled against his mouth,

"Thank you."

He snorted, "Thank you."

Scott balled his hands into fists and clenched his uneven jaw, while beside him, his best friend stared, concerned. This was not good. Not good at all.

Allison had scheduled to have a second chance at a first date wth Isaac that night, and they saw a movie. Sure, he was pleasant enough, but every part of her ached with desire for something else. Someone else, actually.

Even when he placed his jacket on her shoulders and nibbled on her earlobe, she felt nothing. Sparks should have shot through her body like sparklers on the Fourth of July, yet she was unaffected.
