The morning of the school excursion had been pretty average. I woke up to the lovely sounds of All Time Low, had a shower then dried my dirty-blonde hair to its usual straightness and put a small braid to pull my bangs back. I got dressed in a black Vans shirt with a red and black flannel as well as black skinny jeans before I put on the bunch of bracelets that I wear everyday as well as two necklaces: a short small dolphin charmed necklace and a gold compass locket the hangs down to just under my boobs that my mom gave me. I packed my beige canvas bag with my phone charger, a notebook and my headphones as well as the sixth Harry Potter book.

"Morning Maxxie" my dad says from the kitchen while I walk in. My beagle Zero barked at me and ran up to my feet licking my shoes; I crouch down and pet him quickly.

"Morning," I tell my dad as I stand up and grab an apple from the fridge.

"Don't forget your lunch. Oh and I'm gonna need you at the store tonight after school; there's a new shipment coming in." Dad owns the only music store in Bremin; The Palace.

"The excursions today remember? Their providing lunch but thank you." I tell him while taking a bite from the red apple. I froze. "You did sign my permission form right?"

"Yes I did" he says handing me the paper. "Have some faith in your old man. And Take it anyways, you never know." My dad told me as he handed me the brown paper bag. "Nachos okay for dinner tonight Maxxie?" I nod while Taking the bag I kiss his cheek easily. I was only a little shorter than him.

"What's coming in today? More clothes?" I ask already knowing the answer as we walk onto the porch dad nodding while he locks the door behind us and adjusts the jacket he was wearing. I watch across the street hearing a loud knocking on a door.

"Look's like Phil's back again." I tell my dad looking back over my shoulder while I shove the paper bag in my side bag and grabbed my headphones and my apple taking a bite.

"Poor Sarah." He comments before shaking his head. "That's private business Maxxie, stay out of it." He scolds me.

"You mean just like you do?" I ask him teasingly.

"Try to have a good day, i love you." He says pulling my head to him and kissing the top of it. Before he walked over to the beat up blue truck in the driveway.

"Love you." I tell him waving goodbye as he pulls out of the driveway and driving away. I put my headphones in my ear all while holding the apple between my teeth. After organizing myself completely I took out my phone and hit shuffle on my music and when Drown by Bring Me The Horizon started playing I began walking down the street.

Across the street Jake Riles, Sarah's son walks quickly out of the driveway ahead of me. Walking in front of me I follow him as the boy leads the way to school.

When I got to school I kept my ear buds in to avoid actually interacting with the students around me. Though none of them ever bother to talk to me anyway. I make my way towards the buses when a ball flies over my head making me bring my hand up to block my head; the ball narrowly misses my head but instead hits the goth boy Felix Ferne right in the head. I spin around to see Jake and his football buddies all laughing, ignoring them I turn back to Felix. I held up my thumb up towards him to make sure he was alright, he nodded at me. Felix and his best friend Ellen were both regulars in my dad's store where I worked everyday. I avoided the taunts thrown between the two social groups as I continued my trek to the bus pulling my permission slip out of my bag in the process.

I get in line behind Andy Lau and turn the volume on my music down just enough that I could hear what was being said around me.

"Alright, everyone on the bus." Mr.Bates calls out to everyone. Jake walks up cutting in front of Andy trying to get on the bus first but Mr. Bates stops him. "After you Andy," I look at my shoes to hide the smirk that made it's way to my face as Jake acuses Mr. Bates of 'favoritism'
