So when I was writing the last chapter, I didn't realize that the beginning of the next episode was meant to be the same day. So for the sake of the story I'm going to pretend that they are on different days and that this day is already halfway through. :)
Song: When You Were Young - The Killers
------------------
"So why do you guys think it's Saskia?" I asked fiddling with the string bracelet I had on while maintaining eye contact with the floor. The boys had told me this morning when I came to school that they found the missing element and that it's Saskia, the pretty new girl that Jake has a thing for. Shocker.
"She made the water bomb hover in the air right before it hit us. It was amazing." Jake explained excitedly, I swallowed the lump in my throat as I nodded.
"It wasn't normal." Felix began as he put a sympathetic hand on my shoulder. "A girl like Saskia shouldn't have that much magical power."
"What - more than you?" Jake quipped.
"More than any of us." Felix told him seriously, dropping his hand from my shoulder as he did so. "How did you do it - hover that water bomb?" Felix asked Saskia.
"You tell me." Saskia replied.
"Got 'em." Sam suddenly says, referring to the goldfish he had been attempting to catch that was now in a glass jar.
"Good!" Felix declares making his way to the now empty fish tank. I stand up from where I bad been sitting on a desktop and follow him over. "This should be enough water for a tracking spell."
"Should? I thought you said you knew what to do." Jake asked skeptically.
"I do... kind of. If it works, the water will turn into a scrying pool." Felix explained taking off the talisman and gripping it tightly. Sam glances towards Jake, Saskia and me and nervously chuckles. "In English...?"
"We'll be able to see Andy and track where he is." I guessed gaining a nod of approval from Felix.
"Floating water bombs and magic spells... I don't know about all this." Saskia admits unsurily.
"You don't have to be afraid." Jake reassures her in a soft voice. I take a step away from him feeling the pit in my stomach grow larger.
"Yeah, seriously. Who doesn't want a crack at magic?" Sam adds on cheerfully.
"I guess." Saskia shrugged.
"Better get started!" Felix reminded us. Sam let out a soft "Oh" and moved across the room to put the fish down and shut the door with Saskia following to close the blinds. I Crossed my arms and leaned against the filing cabinet next to the fish tank.
"This is the moment of truth. Cross everything." Felix tells us holding up the talisman. Saskia, who had come and stood beside me leaned in closer to look at it.
"It's beautiful. What is it?" She asks her voice filled with curiosity.
"The reason we still exist." Jake tells her. I nod in agreement. Felix begins waving the talisman in front of the fish tank.
