Sam jumped into the dumpster while Felix, Jake, Andy and I all waited outside it.

"This is disgusting." I groan shoving my hand that's cover by my flannel into my nose. The boys nod while Sam pops up over the bin side.

"Only two days out of date and a little bit of mould." Sam states proudly while tossing the bag to Felix.

"Fantastic!" I say sarcastically while holding up a fist.

"These will go well with the five-day-old custard." Felix points out.

"Oh, yeah" Sam says holding his hand out.

"Come on. I'll boost you." Jake points to Andy. Who backs away slowly

"Sorry, I'm germ-phobic." Andy holds his hand out in front of him.

"Then consider this therapy. Come on." Jake says.

"What would Bear Grylls do?" I offer throwing my hands out at my sides. Andy looks at me unsurily but nods and lets Jake climb into the garbage can.

"Bear Grylls, clever." Felix praises me. I shrug.

"It was him or me. I chose him."

"Oh, I can feel the bacteria attacking. All 10 million types." Andy cringes.

"Right. Out. Before I hit you mob for six." A man comes out from behind the building,

"That's my Dad." Felix groans, smiling slightly.

"Come on, sink or swim, bro." Jake says helping Andy out. I take off running the boys catching up behind me quickly.

"I said out." Felix's dad shouts. I let out a laugh as we keep running.

"Mmm, Stale chips." Jake says taking a handful. "Not bad." I take a handful too knowing that they didn't actually touch the garbage. Jake and Andy are on either side of me both picking at the food in front of us. Sam on Jakes other side and Felix to Andy's right the five of us sit in a circle around the garbage we collected.

"I'm not hungry." Andy says disgustedly.

"It has a distinct aroma with a certain intense rubbishness." Sam begins. "Full of surprises. Mould. Grainy sugar. And a hint of cigarette butt." Sam pulls a cigarette butt out of the bagel. "That explains it. I'm giving it a 3 out of 10."

"Almost inedible. 2 out of 10." Andy points out.

"Big fat zero." Felix shows the bagel making a zero with. We all chuckle.

"My Mum makes these." Jake points out sadly.

"We'll work this out. I know it." Sam points out optimistically.

"How do you solve a problem you can't even understand?" Felix asks while playing with his lighter. The mood between the five of us instantly becoming miserable.

"I don't know. But what I do know is that you guys stink." I say clapping my hands to together and pointing at the boys.

"Theres a river over there we can wash in?" Sam suggests.

When we get to the river I put my bag on the ground. Sam, Andy and Jake start taking their clothes off. I crouch down and take my shoes off then roll up the bottoms of my pants slightly. Felix sits on the rock next to my bag.

"Your not going in?" I ask him. He shakes his head no and takes out a black book. I shrug and take off my flannel leaving me in my black shirt with the sleeves cut off. Sam, Jake and Andy now all down to their underwear go in the water. I take a few steps and just put my feet in.
