When we got home from our trip out with Jesy, the house stood still, and empty. It was weird, usually the t.v. was on, running the latest football match, or music was blaring. Today, the house was quiet.

I could tell Perrie felt the tension too, because for a second she paused, catching her breath. She recovered quickly, however, and continued to the kitchen to start cooking dinner.

I walked into the living room, setting my bags down on the floor. Perrie left hers in the car, claiming she was too tired to bring them in, and that she'd take them in tomorrow. I grabbed the remote, and turned on the television. There wasn't much on, so I just switched to E! News, and laid down on the couch.

I was trying to get in a well deserved nap, but the sound of Maria Menounous's voice woke me up. She was going on about how One Direction were breaking up. The subject quickly changed however to me; like it always seemed too.

"Rumor has it that Zayn Malik not only left his band mates, but also his family. Take a look as reporters show Zayn leaving his flat in tears, while getting in his car. Reports say he hasn't been home since. Some more rumors are to say that Cece Brooks, Perrie and Zayn's newly adopted daughter, is the cause of all this drama, however this rumor hasn't been proven accurate." I threw my head in my hands, and groaned. Apparently Perrie heard my noise of distress, because she quickly came into the living room.

"Whats wrong?"

"E! News and other stupid people blame me for Zayn leaving you and the band." I explain, throwing the remote onto the coffee table.

"You know that isn't true right?"

"Yeah, I know. It's just stupid that they have to say stuff like that on public telev-" I didn't get to finish before there was a loud and persistent bang on the front door. I stood, while Perrie jumped, and the house grew quiet. The banging grew louder, as Perrie made her way over to answer it.

"Hello? Oh, Zayn..." Perrie didn't have time to open the door wider, before Zayn barged in, away from the paparazzi.

"Cece, thank God you here. I saw the report on E! News." Zayn was panting, as if he'd just ran a whole marathon.

"I know, it's not the reason why, you don't have to tell me again." I state, hoping maybe then the tension would ease.

"Okay, good. I'm sorry to just barge in, I didn't want Cece believing all of that shit."

"It's okay. I was just making dinner," Perrie paused before continuing.

"Would you like to stay?"

Zayn looked between the two of us, and then towards the front door. It was an awkward few minutes of tension, and I was honestly hoping it would end soon. This whole day was just messed up and off.

"Yeah, alright. Thanks." I silently thanked God in my head.

Dinner was awkward to say the least. No one talked, the only sound was the slight noise of a fork scraping against a plate. Zayn cleared his throat a few time, and Perrie would glance over at him, but that was pretty much it.

"So..." I said, trying to break the awkward silence.

"How was everyone's day?" I asked, again trying to get them to talk. The didn't though. They answered me with a 'fine' and left it at that.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back."I got up to go to the bathroom, but really to see if they'll talk. I disappeared up the stairs, and waiting in one of the bedrooms, with the door open.

"What are we doing?" Perrie finally asked.

"What do you mean?"

"This tension between us, it's not good Zayn. I mean can't we talk to each other without arguing?"

"Clearly not, we're arguing right now."

"Only because you aren't communicating. I mean at least pretend to be interested in our lives okay?" Perrie was on the verge of tears, I could hear it in her voice.

"I am very interested in Cece's life." Zayn said firm.

"What about mine?"

"Perrie, you know I am interested in your life, I didn't think I needed to say it."

"I'm sorry, for everything " Perrie stated, hurt evident in her voice.

"I'm sorry too." Zayn said. I heard the chairs move against the hard wood, and knew they were hugging.

I bounded down the stairs, and realized they weren't just hugging, but kissing too. Like really kissing. So, I silently excused my self upstairs to my room, and thanked my lucky stars they made up.
