Chapter VII
Reese was laying with his hands tied behind his head. The sky was darkening now while Reese watched the ceiling. Unlike most of the other times, Reese had a smile over his face. He couldn't stop replaying the scene over and over again in his head. The heavy make out session with Aden for starters but also the moments that led up to that moment.
Did that mean he had Aden now?
He started to replay the scene in his head in the moments that took place after their heavy make out.
Meeting the parents.
It was painfully awkward and weird. At first Aden's mother (short blonde haired, petite framed, brown eyes narrowing in suspicion, like mother like son) had shouted asking who left junk on the floor. Both Reese and Aden had completely forgotten. They both had to snap out of the moment, separate and act like nothing happened. Reese understood perfectly well without needing Aden to explain. Aden looked like he was about to anyway, but Reese shook his head mouthing that he knew.
Aden's parents were exactly the way Reese pictured. After getting a look at Aden's mom, who was dressed like a soccer mom without the visor, he looked to the father. His hair was turning white at the sides and he was dressed in a white polo shirt with a pair of slacks. He was currently shaking the umbrella out the door, half turned towards his son and Reese.
Aden's mother didn't bother hiding the stare. Nothing could escape her brown hawk eyed look. She was already piecing it all together. She was staring directly at Reese, more like he was caught trying to rob the place. Not that she was too far off, in fact, Reese had almost robbed her son's virginity if they never popped up at the right time.
Reese couldn't hide the fact that he knew he was being judged. He smiled anyway while Aden frowned.
Aden's mother finally shifted her eyes from Reese to her son and started a stare off. Reese very much wanted to cross his arms over his chest and step in between them. She could stare at him all she wanted as long as she left Aden alone. Reese wanted nothing more than to protect Aden, even if it was from his own parents.
At least Reese never had to deal with crap like this from his own mother. Reese wasn't aware of how lucky he was until now.
Aden's father had finished shaking the umbrella out by the front door when he turned to Reese. At least he had a little more dignity than his wife. His face was clean shaven and Reese could see where Aden got most of his looks from. "Who's this?"
"Hello sir, I'm Reese Kolansky. Friend of your son here. My little sister Cameron is best friends with Aden here." Reese used his movie star smile that could always shake anyone out of an awkward moment. He reached out and shook hands with the man. Once their hands pulled away, Aden's dad regarded him with open curiosity, but guarded.
Except, Aden's mom had to be an alien from another planet because it didn't work on her. "What are you doing here?"
Reese ignored her rude tone and was about to reply.
"He picked me up." Aden said. "As you can tell we're having one heck of a thunderstorm out there. I was walking back from that Shell gas station when this storm came out of nowhere. I'm sorry for leaving this junk all over the floor. I'll get it cleaned up right away."
She was giving him a 'you better' look when she asked, "But what is he doing here?"
"He," Aden said with emphasis, "had to get out of his warm and cozy car and talk me into taking a ride. You know how stubborn I can be. So anyways, he was drenched and I figured sending him back out there in this crazy weather would be rude, I invited him in and now washing his clothes."
