A/N: Whoohoo, it's my birthday on Sunday! Also I'm sick. I hope you enjoy this chapter at least!
"Stupid John, leaving his messes everywhere. I should march right up to him, and..." Paul trailed off, picking up the number that came from Yoko. "Oh, you better start praying, because you're so dead. JOHNNNNNN!"
"WHAT?!" John stomped into the room angrily. "I was busy!"
"Uh huh, yeah. Could you tell me what THIS is? You dropped it earlier."
His jaw dropped, and he refused to meet his gaze. "I - I must've forgotten to throw that away."
"John Lennon, did you call her?"
"Pau l-"
"Did you call her?!"
"Yes!"
Paul scowled. "I should have known you'd go behind my back and do something like this. I thought you were better than that."
"Paul, she's just a friend!" John grabbed his arm gently. "Please believe me! I'd never love her, I love you! I swear to god I love only you!"
He didn't turn around. "I know. I love you too, but you scared me. Please don't do that again. But just know that if I find out you are romantically involved with her in any way, we are over." Paul turned around to face him. "And that's a promise."
"I got it, Paulie. I'll never scare you like that again. Today should be a day of celebration and happiness since we aren't breaking the damn law anymore."
His mouth quickly twitched into a smile as he rubbed his forehead against John's. "Yeah, you're right."
"Did we miss anything?" George inquired. "Sorry for being late, we were a little distracted."
Ringo quickly tried to fix his messy hair. "Yeah, distracted."
"Yeah, okay. Hey Ringo, did you know your Sgt. Pepper uniform is pink? Did you, uh, approve of that?"
"What?!" He stood up straight. "Really? Pink? Well, I guess it could be worse."
George crossed his arms. "I think I'd look stupid in one of those outfits."
"Sure you will, with that attitude!" Paul giggled to himself. "It's very colorful."
"I think you'd look so cute in a little blue outfit, Paulie."
He batted John's hands away. "Stop pinching my cheeks."
"Make me."
"Fight, fight, fight! Kiss, kiss, kiss!"
George smacked Ringo upside the head with a snicker. "Let the girls work it out on their own."
"Girls?!" Paul yanked out of his grip. "Let's get 'em!"
"Run!"
---
"So, can we meet her?"
"Who?"
"Yoko, we want to meet her. That is, if she is okay with it."
Paul stiffened. "She seems to call you a lot. What for?"
"Ah, her avant-garde bullshit."
They relaxed at that. "Sounds interesting? I don't know what else to call it. Anyone have the time?"
"Half past ten, I believe." George glanced at the clock and nodded. "Perhaps we should go to sleep?"
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Hey look, it's raining pretty hard out there." Ringo peered out the window. "I wonder how long it will last." A lightbulb flickered over their heads.
"What?" With that, every source of light winked out. "Gah!"
"Power outage, just great. Anyone have a torch?" They all shook their heads, not that John could see. "Perfect, let's go suffer in the dark. Come on, Macca." Paul scampered off behind him, leaving George and Ringo behind.
"George? I'm scared."
"Why are you scared?"
"It's just that I'm...I'm..." Ringo closed his mouth again with a sigh. "The dark."
"You're scared of the dark? And I didn't know after all this time?"
Ringo nodded once, shuffling awkwardly. "I thought it was stupid to be afraid of the daAAAAARK!"
George pulled him close a bit harshly. "No, no it's not, I'm sorry that I didn't know. Let's just talk so you'll be distracted, the sun will come soon. Um, when did you first start loving me?"
"A - after you took that hit for me."
"You remember that?" he asked, a surprised look on his face.
"Of course I do, no one ever did anything for me like that. What about you?"
George thought for a moment. "I started loving you after I realized I would do anything to protect you."
"Anything?"
"Anything in the world, love."
Ringo buried his head into his shoulder. "Love you."
"I love you too."
