"Paul!"
"John?" Paul raised his head weakly, holding his arm. "Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine! You're bleeding!" John kneeled down, unbuttoning his shirt. "Why did this happen?!"
"I told you I had a strange feeling. At least I got you out of the way in time."
"Baby, I'm sorry! It should've been me!" John used his shirt as a tourniquet. "Where does it hurt?"
"Me right shoulder, me left side, and me head." Paul reached up to feel it, hand covered in blood. "Oh, that's not good."
"Oh god, oh god, what has he done to you?!" He whirled around, facing the bewildered man. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
"Do you know what you've just done?!" someone shouted in Mark's face.
"Uh, I think I just shot Paul McCartney."
"LENNON-MCCARTNEY, DAMMIT!" John picked up the gun on the ground, pointing it at him. "How dare you hurt me Paulie?!"
"John, don't." Paul touched his leg. "Just get me help, please."
"Okay," he whispered, running to the front desk. "Help, help! Me husband's been shot!"
"Oh my god!" the receptionist shouted. Sirens blared in the distance, coming closer and closer. The man just sat on the sidewalk, reading a book wordlessly.
"John, come back!" Paul cried.
John ran over, taking his hand. "You're going to be okay, love. It's alright now."
"Police!" Two officers quickly handcuffed the man, dragging him into the car.
"That's right, bastard!" John shouted after him.
The next car drove up a few minutes later, screeching to a halt. "Put him in the back!"
"On it!" He picked up Paul bridal style, jumping into the back of the car. "Paulie, stay with me!"
"I'm sleepy, John," he yawned. "I'm trying to stay awake." He laid his head on his lap. "Sorry for pushing you."
"It's okay." John stroked his hair, starting to cry. "I should've listened to you."
"It's not your fault," he insisted. "I made my decision. I'm just glad you're okay."
"I wish you were okay." He gasped as his eyes closed. "Paul? Paul?! Wake up, please wake up! Don't leave me!"
