"It's very nice to meet you, Yoko," Paul lied, gritting his teeth. "We've heard so much about you." Too much, actually.
"I hope they were positive things, weren't they, John?"
John smirked. "Maybe I was telling them how bad of a girl you are?"
"Oh, shit." George watched Paul's eyes flare up at these words as Ringo's jaw dropped and he mouthed 'what the fuck?'. "He's so dead."
"And I suppose these two are George and Ringo?"
They jerked their heads over and plastered on fake smiles. "That's us!"
John looked irritated at his friends. "Yeah, that's them. So you've met the whole crew, eh? What would you like to do now?"
"May I see some songs you are working on?"
Paul put his hands in his pockets. "Ooh, I really wish we could, but-"
"Of course you can!" John interrupted. "Follow me!"
He growled as soon as they were out of sight. "Who does she think she is?!"
"Paul, she doesn't know he's with you."
"Well, I hope not! Stupid bitch."
George cuffed him in the head lightly. "We hardly know her! She could be really nice!"
The phone in the kitchen rang loudly, and Paul rushed over to answer. "Yeah? Yes, this is he. Uh huh. Oh, Christ no!" He dropped the phone with an expression of pure shock.
"What's up?" George looked scared.
"God, Brian...they found him in his room. He overdosed..."
"What the hell are you saying?"
He swallowed. "He's dead."
"Brian, oh god..."
Paul's shoulders slumped. "We never thanked him properly for keeping our secret, poor lad." George opened his arms with a slight smile as John skidded back into the room, and they all joined in the group hug.
However, Yoko stood off to the side, watching them. "It's okay to cry," she spoke up softly.
Paul glared into John's shoulder. It's none of her business, she never knew Brian. I cry whenever I damn please.
"You're right, he had a nice life." John sighed, nuzzling into his hair. "I wonder where he is now?" It was a bit awkward, having a stranger witness their group hug. "Sorry, Yoko. I guess we got caught up in the moment."
"Oh no, I don't mind. I could come back another time if that's necessary."
"Well, actually -"
"No, that's fine." Paul groaned, got up, and left the room with a huff. "What's his problem?" John sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, maybe this is a bad time. I'll talk to you as soon as possible, Yoko. We need to mourn."
"Of course, I understand. Goodbye, John." She finally left, the door swinging shut behind her.
"Fuck," he groaned. George shot a glare at him. "What?"
"You know what! Flirting with someone in front of Paul, the nerve!"
Ringo shook his head with a sigh. "Will you go talk to him or shall I?"
He weighed his options. Paul's angry, so he may not want to see him. On the other hand, he did start the whole mess. "I'll go."
"Good man, John." He gave him the double finger on the way upstairs. "I have a bad feeling about things to come," George sighed. "We'll never get a break, will we?"
