I ran until my wolf legs gave out and I collapsed. I shifted into my human form and carried Chris to a motel. Though it was hard because I could barely carry myself.

“Yes how may I help you?” the woman asked.

“How much is a room?” I asked.

“Seventy dollars a night.” She said.

I handed her $210 dollars.

“Can I get a room for three nights?” I asked.

She grabbed the money and gave me a key to the room. Once there Chris and I went straight to sleep. We had a much unexpected day and I knew what I must do.

“Chris we are going to have to lay low for a minute. I know you are use to what we had but Karsh betrayed us. He betrayed our family and now is after us.” I said.

“He took the pack from you?” he asked.

“No he killed them. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save them. “ I said.

“No it’s not your fault. We will get revenge.” He said.

“Yes but we are in another territory. We must not let anyone know who we are and what we are. We must cover our scent.” I said.

He nodded and agreed. I closed my eyes and whispered a spell over us that cover our scent.

“And you have to go to school.” I said.

“WHAT!?” he half asked half yelled.

“I’m sorry but we have to. I’m going to school as well so don’t think you are the only one suffering and I will keep training you just as father would. Though I don’t know the last steps.” I said and looked up remembering how just hours ago my father and I were practicing and I was about to take the title.

I smashed my fist into a wall causing a huge hole to form.

“I ran like a little pup! I should have fought by their side!  We trusted him! We trusted him with our life and he betrayed us! He deceived me! He killed them all and left us!” I screamed.

I didn’t care if everyone heard me. I was angry. He killed my family. Our mother. Our father. Our Brother. Our little sister. I could have saved them but how could I? He held a knife at my throat covered in wolf’s bane. But it wouldn’t have affected me. I should have killed him. Before he got to them.

I was throwing punches at the whole wall.

“Krystal remember out training. You must control yourself or your powers will take over.” Chris said.

“How- you are right. I must not get myself worked up. I have to stay in control.” I said.

“Now refill the holes before we have to pay for damage.” He said.

I closed my eyes and used my powers to refill the holes I made in the wall. I didn’t need to pay extra even though I had over a Billion dollars on me.

“We first need to find a home.  And then we can in role both you and I into school.” I said.

“No first we need to eat. I’m hungry.” He said.
