Chapter 10: A Coma

“OK so we are going to train now. I have Chris so we will train for at least 14 hours.” I said.

“Yes Alpha.” They all said.

“Come Chris.” I said.

 I turned on my heels and we walked into the woods. Farther and farther we walked until I found a nice place.

“Okay let’s do a few defense moves and then attack moves.”  I told him.

“Okay.” He said.

We started training and he was fairly good for his age but not good enough for our pack. The wind began to pick up and Chris looked at me with a knowing look.  I nodded and we began running really fast.

 We jumped up and ended up in the tallest tree and began fighting. It looked like we were flying but that was the trick of it.

We did this for a whole 4 hours and he was tired. I wanted so badly to be easy on him but I was Alpha and had to be tough. Four hours weren’t enough and he was already tired.

“Again.” I said.

“But I’m so tired.” He said.

“A war may last longer than 4 hours. It may last 4 days. If you stop fighting you die.” I said.

He started again and gave it his all. He lasted for another 5 hours and I was breathing a little faster.

“Good. That’s enough for now.” I said as we began walking back to the house.

In the distance I heard a twig snap and I stopped in my tracks.

“Go to the house. I’ll be there in a minute.” I said.

“But what about yo-“

“Now.” I growled.

He bowed with respect and walked away. I on the other hand went back into the woods and walked around. It was too quiet to be the woods. Something wasn’t right at all.

 Where were the birds and other animals?

I turned and saw a blur. I knew exactly what it was.  The thought made me growl at the most. I turned and there stood Jaxon.

“Hey beautiful.” He said.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“It seems as though you are in some trouble. Need help?” he asked.

“Not from you.” I sneered.

“why are you so mean?” he asked.

“You are a trader. You should leave.” I growled.

“You loved me at some point.” He said.

“Why on earth would I love a blood sucker like you?” I asked.

“Because you know why.” He said.

My eyes went wide. Never will he get me to believe him. Never.

“That’s a lie. We were a lie. And I have someone else.” I growled.

“I know you have someone else and so do I.” he said.

I looked into his eyes and saw the love that was once for me still there and still for me. But he had another love for someone else.

“That’s not the reason you are here. You know something.” I said.

“I do. I wanted to warn you. And……… I also need your help.” He said.

“I got in trouble once for helping you and what did you do to repay me? You left and as soon as you left my family and pack got attacked. Give me one reason why I shouldn’t rip you apart. “I said.
