Auria's POV
I climbed back on deck and treaded over to where Kai was leaning against the stairs. He'd cut his hair short and with a slight spike. He glanced over at me when I leaned back next to him. The waves crashed heavily against the sides of the vessel. "I need to ask you something, Kai." He shrugged. "Ask away, Your Majesty." He said the last part with so much sarcasm I snorted. I pulled my skirt up so he could see the mark on my thigh. "What about it?" He looked towards the dusk. "Do you have one?" I asked. In response, he pulled up his shirt. Next to his Eagles tattoo was the same mark. "Thought so. Adelaide has one too. She says her friend Luna had one too, but she was captured. We're heading to Oderga still. I used to think nothing of it, but I think it's part of the whole visions prophecy thing. We need to hurry up and get Luna." He nodded and pointed out into the distance. "You can still see Valond from here. Cool, huh?" I laughed. "I need to go update Nina and possibly yell at her. You should catch up with Adelaide or something. Just try not to throw someone overboard." He pushed some hair out of his face and nodded. "Will do, Auria. Yell if you need anything.. Listen, I'm sorry about Arlyn. I should've known. When the bandits got us.. He didn't even fight back. He acted like he did, but I knew he wasn't trying to. Maybe, one day after this is over, if you let him live he'll become an actor." We both laughed, and then a peaceful silence came. Not awkward, but eerily brilliant. After a few minutes we caught eachother's eyes and gazed into them. Then, we simutaniously looked away. I strolled into Nina's cabin. "Hey, Nina." I said, casually. She stood. "I'm so sorry. I didn't get a close look at her and a crew member beckoned her on too soon." I pushed that aside and shrugged. "Everyone makes mistakes. You just made a very dangerous one. I truthfully don't care at this point, and we're lucky you've made this mistake with this certain person, who just happens to be the person we needed. Now, we're on a rescue mission to Oderga." She glanced at me and sighed. "You take after your sister. It'll take a few days." I nodded and turned to leave but paused at the door and looked back at the captain. "And Nina," I said, "Thank you. For everything."
