Auria's POV

A few days later

We docked in Odarga and exited the boat hastily. "Stay safe! And don't get into too much trouble!" Nina yelled after us. I smiled up at her and gave her a two finger salute. "We'll try our best." We headed into the woods to find our way to the camp Faelern had set up. It only took us a few minutes. The camp was small, with only a few tents. A sun elven man sat on a stump, sharpening some arrows. He glanced over at us and stood. "You must be Solyn's sister. Your tent is over there." He pointed over to a mid-sized green tent. "You should share with that elf. I'll share mine with your male companion."  Adelaide breathed out loudly and spun around. "I haven't been here in ages," She smiled. "Too long. Isn't it just exquisite?" I nodded and set down my bag outside of our tent. "We need to unpack and start searching. A moon elf in Odarga shouldn't be too hard to spot, right?" She nodded, a grave expression on her face. I put my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. We'll find her before they do anything to her." I set up our bedrolls and helped Faelern start a fire. We all sat around the campfire, exchanging information. Faelern said nothing until we were done. "I think the enemy is nearby. We need someone to keep watch. I'll take first shift." And with that, he stood up and sat on a log between our tents. Adelaide yawned and I too stood. "We should go to bed. It's been a long day." Kai slowly rose from the log he shared with Faelern and disappeared into his tent. I followed Adelaide into mine and got cozy in my bedroll.

                                                                                          -~~~~~~~-

I awoke around midnight to the sound of twigs snapping. Next thing I know, I hear sounds of struggle coming from outside. Kai hit the ground with a grunt. I glanced over at Adelaide and sighed. She was snoring, in deep sleep. I stood, as quietly as I could, and grabbed my dagger. Someone clapped their hand over my mouth and grabbed my hand. They removed their hand for a second, long enough for me to yell "KAI!" before they clamped a rag over my mouth. I recognised it as chloroform. I heard sounds coming from the tent across from me. They'd trapped Faelern in, and clearly he was trying to get out. My consciousness started to slip into the darkness. I fought against the chloroform for a moment, then started slowing down. I gradually closed my eyes and the attacker started dragging me out of the tent. I leaped up, getting in a kicked to his head. He collapsed and I pulled down his mask.

Arlyn.

I ran over to Faelern's tent and pushed aside the boxes. He came tumbling out, bow ready. We ran over to my tent and awoke Adelaide. Faelern put Kai on his shoulders and we started to run. Someone teared after us. It was Arlyn. He grabbed my arm and spun me around. Then, he wove water around me. He hadn't realised how far I'd gotten with my water magic. I spun it around me. I puleld out my dagger, which I'd retrieved whilst waking Adelaide. I started on the offense, changing weapons with every attack. I yelled over to Faelern and Adelaide, "GO! I'll catch up!" He hit my sword with his greatsword but pulled a dagger out. He plunged it into my stomach and flattened his hand, snapping it to hit where my neck and shoulders connected. I collapsed.

Kai's POV

I woke up on a log. I put my hand against my head, extremely dizzy. I remembered what had happened and jumped up way too fast. I fell back, my head spinning. "Did they get her?" I asked Faelern. He nodded gravely. "She saved the rest of us, though. I was trapped in my tent and she freed me. We managed to wake up Adelaide and run into the woods, but a moon elf got her." I scowled. "Arlyn.." I mumbled. "We have to go after her. If we can find her, Luna will probably be there too. But why didn't they take Adelaide or me? We've both been hunted, too." Adelaide looked over at me, tears in her eyes. "If they take our leader, that depowers us. And, she's the only one who can predict how to find the other chosen ones." I sighed and stood slowly. "We're going after her. What way did they go?" Adelaide pointed to the west. "They can't stay in Odarga long. I think they're going to Inari, a county to the west of here." I nodded and picked up my axe. "Well, let's go."
