"So we meet again," Trevor sneered.
The, uh, good looking male Demi-God dropped lightly into the room from the collapsed ceiling part. I groaned inwardly. Trevor's hair? Still magnificently held in place. How did the guy do that?! I needed to get his tips...after we kicked his butt.
"Yeah," I butted in, "the last time we met was when Percy and I saved your sorry ass back at that school. Where would you be now, pretty boy?"
Trevor's face turned red. He pointed an accusing finger at me. "So what? You're just gonna deny that you think I'm hot?"
Oh shit.
Percy gave me a questioning look while I face palmed for a moment. Was this little shit never going to forget about my little slip of tongue? Of course he'd try to use it against me. Sometimes Demeter kids just pissed me off.
Suddenly his face turned curious. His sneer had slipped and he looked...innocent again. He looked like regular Trevor back at camp, before he figured out he was an evil baddie in a quest. Trevor's eyes scanned the cramped space, filled with caved in roof pieces and dust. He passed over Percy and I a couple times.
He took a step back, surprise clear across his features.
"Where's Pandora?" He asked, tension in his voice.
And then I recognized the look in his eyes. Pain. Torture. Like he didn't know what to do. It was like Luke and Thalia all over again. Luke and Annabeth. I wanted to cry out like a wounded puppy as soon as I realized his feelings for the girl.
Goddamit, Trevor totally had the hots of Pandora. Now kicking his little butt would be even harder. I mean it would be easy at the same time seeing he looked a little like Justin Bieber, but it'd also be hard to not damage him that badly as the dude was in love with Pandy.
Why me?
"She's with your mom," Percy said, his voice softer than it had been earlier. He'd obviously noticed his eyes as well. Percy would know this better than anyone.
"What?"
It was time to play dirty.
"Pandora's our sacrifice," I shrugged.
He turned white.
"Is...Demeter going to kill her?" He asked.
"I don't know. And I really don't care," I drawled. I had to play the game better than him. I had to play his way, the foul way, to win.
I felt Percy's eyes on my head. He was looking at me, trying to stop me from playing with his mind. After seeing what happened to Luke I guess he realized that he wasn't ready for more people to feel the way Luke did. He didn't want more people to end up like Luke.
Trevor swore. He looked around before pointing a finger straight at my chest.
"You...you guys wait here. I'm going to fucking kill you when I get back," Trevor growled.
He jumped up and hoisted himself out of the hole. Percy and I shared a look?
"Obviously we're going to split like a banana," Percy finally said.
"I like the way you think," I muttered as both of us climbed out the caved in hole.
Now this was different. In the world of the dead you didn't often see baby blue rooms of silk. Everything was mostly black or grey or black ... or grey.
But apparently Persephone and Demeter really liked bright colours. They had purple, pink, blue, and at least fifty shades of hot cheetah print pink pants. My eyes were not used to the colour I saw after being in the dark for so long. Totally weird.
