She was running. She didn't know why, but she knew that she just had to keep running. The lush grass was muffling her footsteps as she rushed through the forest. The silence was broken when a piercing scream came from deeper in the forest.
She stopped, her breathing was the only sound she heard for a few minutes before there was another scream. She knew who it was and she had to go to her before it got worse. She reached the end of the forest and an unbearable sight laid before her. On the ground a few feet away was a girl with brilliant blonde hair and blue eyes that were filled with tears.

"Luna." Charlotte whispered before rushing to her sister's aid.

" I'm here, Luna. Everything's going to be okay. " She said as she gave her a hug, her shoulders shaking as Luna kept crying.

"No it's not, Charlotte." She whispered before she pulled away from her sister's grasp. Luna looked at her and Charlotte noticed that her eyes were no longer blue, but white with slits as pupils. She backed away from her as Luna started speaking.

"It's never going to be alright again, now that I'm back." The voice wasn't the soft, distant voice of her sister anymore. This voice was harsh and cold and belonged to a man. Charlotte couldn't help but scream as her sister's appearance changed completely.

"Wake up, Charlotte!" Luna poked her sister and when that seemed to have no effect on her, she slapped her across the face.

"Ow!" She mumbled before she opened her eyes. She took in her surroundings and then looked at her sister. Fear came across her face before she spoke.

"Luna? Is it really you?" She asked and let out a sigh of relief when she nodded. She climbed out of her queen sized bed and hugged her sister as tight as possible.

"Thank you for waking me. I was having a terrible dream." She explained before letting go. Luna nodded in understanding before a smile spread across her face.

"Well the dream's over. You should get ready, oh and happy birthday." She said as she walked out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her. Charlotte took a deep breath and looked around her room. What a great way to start her birthday.
