Charlotte,
Happy birthday! I wish I could be there with you, but I'm not able to go anywhere until later this summer. I've been in contact with Ron and he's invited me to go to the Quidditch World Cup with his family. If you want to come, I could ask Mr. Weasley if they have an extra ticket. I'm sure they would love to have you. Enclosed is your present. Let me know what you think, about everything.
-Harry

Charlotte shook her head as a smile crept across her face. It was sweet of Harry to invite her, but she knew that she wouldn't be welcome around the Weasleys. Although he was going out of his way to invite her, she had to decline. Ron didn't like the fact that a Slytherin was dating his best friend, she didn't want to make things worse by tagging along.

With her package in hand, Charlotte made her way inside the house. She figured she would give Harry a quick reply so he wouldn't get his hopes up. As she walked up the stairs, she made sure not to make a lot of noise. She opened her bedroom door and quickly slipped inside, shutting the door behind her. She walked over to her desk and sat down, grabbing a blank piece of parchment and a quill on her way into her chair.

She decided to open the present before writing out her thoughts. She held out the package and smiled at Harry's terrible job at wrapping it. The green paper was bundled together and tied with a huge silver ribbon. She untied the ribbon and the package undid itself, revealing an amazing sight.

Sitting on the desk, amidst the green paper was a very small black velvet box. Once she opened it, a smile spread across her face. Inside was a silver ring with a black stone set in the center. Tapped to the inside of the box was another piece of paper, she opened it to reveal more of Harry's untidy handwriting.

This is a mood ring. Muggles used to wear them all the time a few years ago. I know how much you love muggle objects. This one has been enchanted to include more emotions. Enjoy!

She slipped the ring onto her pinky and the black stone turned a vibrant shade of blue. She was very happy at the moment. She had received a beautiful necklace from her best friend and this ring from her boyfriend. She put the wrappings aside and placed the blank parchment in front of her.

Harry,
Thank you so much for the ring! It's wonderful. Thank you also for inviting me to go to the Quidditch World Cup with you. But I have to pass. You know as well as I do that Ron and his family don't like me. I don't want to put you through a position that will just make things worse. I do wish that you will enjoy yourself while you're there, you deserve to have some fun.
-Charlotte

She folded up the letter and placed it inside an envelope. After writing his name on the front of the envelope, she opened her window and whistled. A screech was heard as her dark blue macaw, Sapphire, flew through the window and landed on her shoulder.

"Hey, girl." She greeted her with a rub on the head. "Take this to Harry and be careful." She said as she handed the letter over. Sapphire took it in her beak and rubbed her head against Charlotte's cheek before taking off.
