Recap-

She grabbed her dinner, leaned over and kissed Carlos on the cheek.

That was totally unexpected, becaused Carlos looked at her, not with disdain this time, but with suspision.

"I don't give people second chances to eat their meals. Don't let it happen again" Carlos said and turned abruptly back to face the stove.

Ok. his voice is.... well, I could get used to hearing him speak.

"Thank you, Carlos." she answered him before turning around and walking back to her cabin.

Whew! mission accomplished.

Sitting on her bed, she began to munch on her bread. It was delicious.

She suddenly felt heavy and drowsy. Yup, definately the best bread ever.

So what next? Oh yes, sleep.

CHAPTER 3

Rizpah was brutally awakened by the dangerous lurching of the ship, causing her to topple over and crash unto her cabin floor.

What the…?!

The ship tipped dangerously, again, causing her to smash against the door. She let out a pain-filled groan. That is going to leave a very attractive bruise by tomorrow. She looked around, noticing for the first tome that water covered the floor of her cabin, drenching her in freezing salt water.

Oh lord, I’ve got to get outta here.

Telling herself that, she got up and made her way toward her cabin door. She opened the door, only to be pushed back aggressively by a wall of water. She went crashing to the floor, slamming her head against the bed frame.

Ouch

She got up again, determined not to drown, and made her way upstairs to the deck. She was met with commotion and a hell lot of confusion. Everyone was frantically pushing things overboard in an attempt to make the boat lighter. The boat lurched dangerously again and she would have flown head first and become shark snack had Carlos not pulled her back.

“Role the damned sails up!” she heard the captain bellow as he bravely tried to steer the ship against the storm.

She saw passengers like herself and she knew that the look of fear and doom on their faces was mirrored on her face also. She tried counting the holes in her lacy skirt to calm her frayed nerves, but all too soon, the worst happened.

She felt it before she heard it, the immense vibration, almost like an earthquake, followed by the loud crack of a tree breaking in half.

That was no tree, that was the ship!

She knew it was a matter of time before the ship would sink. She decided to look for anything made of wood whatsoever to help her float. Finding a round barrel, she opened it, and finding it empty, she hopped inside and slammed her eyes shut.

Oh God save me, please save me…

She knew she was in the water because she could feel the erratic bouncing of her little barrel-boat. Water rushed into her barrel, dousing her in more water and cutting off her oxygen supply. She tried to drag in some much needed air, but instead, water rushed into her lungs, choking her and causing her to go into sweet oblivion.
