Let's start this out with a sad one! >:)

Clary POV

I hiss in pain as demon ichor splatters from the demon I've killed onto my cheek. I wipe it off with my hand as I scan the area. I can't see Jace anywhere. Where is he? What if he's...

No.

Jace is perfectly fine. He has to be. He just proposed a few days ago. I have no idea what I'd do if he was dead. "Jace!" I call out as I walk deeper into the alley. "Jace where are you!?"

A dark shape comes towards me from the darkness, making me start to pull out my seraph blade. Luckily, I recognize the voice that calls out to me.

"Don't worry Clary. It's just me."

I smile and rush towards Jace, throwing my arms around his neck and letting my lips smash against his. I can feel Jace smirk into the kiss and his hands loosely connect around my waist. The sparks I felt six years ago when we first met are still there. People think we're too young to be getting married. Truth be told, twenty two is young. But Jace and I never cared. And getting married at twenty two is better than doing it at eighteen in a Vegas chapel. Please don't ask. That is a story for another time.

"Thank the Angel," I whisper breathlessly as we pull away. "You ran off after that demon and I wasn't sure if you were--."

I'm cut off by Jace softly saying, "Hey, it's okay. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." He plants a light kiss on my forehead and whispers, "Let's head back to the Institute. It's late and you seem tired." I smile at him and start to turn when I see a flash of movement behind Jace.

My eyes widen as I see the demon start to attack. "No!" I shout as I push Jace out of the way.

I gasp as the sharp tail of the demon plunges through my chest and almost directly into my heart. I fall to the ground as Jace yells angrily and starts to attack the demon. I watch as Jace fights and, eventually, kills the demon while a warm liquid pools around me. Once he's done with the demon, he drops down next to me with despair covering his face.

"H-Hold on Clary. W-We can fix this," he says shakily. He pulls out his stele and draws an iratze on my chest, right above the burning wound. The rune fades away, but does nothing to help me. "Goddamnit. Why isn't this working!?"

I let out a shaky breath. "Th-The tail of the, of the demon was laced in poi-poison. An iratze c-can't help me."

"N-No. No! An iratze has to work. I-I c-can't lose you Clary," Jace states, crying now. I weakly put my hand on his cheek and wipe away the tears and some start to fall on my own face. "We-We just have to get you to the Institute. Magnus will be there."

I gasp in pain as I feel another burning in my chest. "Please hurry," I whimper as Jace gently scoops me up and runs off in the direction of the Institute.

What happens after that is a blur. I can't remember the run to the Institute, but I remember Jace bursting out of the elevator yelling for help. I can't remember anyone coming, but I can remember being laid down in the infirmary and everyone watching in horror. I can't remember little bits, like my mom and Luke arriving or all the pain or coughing up the blood that sits in the bed pan beside me.

"Please! Make it s-stop!" I cry out while Jace grips my hand and Magnus has his eyes closed in concentration while he tries a spell.

Suddenly, Magnus groans in frustration. "It's not working! I can't heal her! The poison has been in her body for too long!" He turns, teary eyed, to Jace. "I'm so sorry Jace," he says softly as tears start slowly falling from his glowing cat eyes.
