I woke up the next day to the morning light. My mind was a little fuzzy of yesterday but something was bothering me. I looked over and saw that Stuart and Wesley were already gone. I grabbed a mountain dew out of the mini fridge and took a sip walking into my closet and getting changed taking sips of my Mountain Dew frequently.

I walked out and my cell was ringing and vibrating on my bed. I ran over and flipped it open.

"Hello?" I said, taking another sip.

"Hey Jess. It's Cane. From yesterday." I heard Cane's voice from the other end. The name sounded so familiar.

"Yeah. What do you want?" I asked trying to not sound rude.

"Well I was wondering if you would like to hang out today. Just me and you." he asked.

"Sure. By the way what's your last name?" I asked curiously.

"Cane Lancaster. Why?" I heard him say and I just about dropped my phone.

"Cane. Is that really you? Remember me. Jessica Chase. We were in soccer and karate together." I said getting more and more excited. He had been my crush and best friend before I had moved and met Stuart.

I heard him gasp a little at the other end. "Omygosh. Jess I didn't recognize you yesterday!" I heard the smile in his voice and I laughed.

"Yeah, I'm still short as hell, but I do look a bit different now." I said brushing my hair putting the phone on speaker and setting it on the dresser.

He chuckled. "So today. Wanna hang out?" he asked again.

"Definitely" I replied.

"Cool meet me outside the school doors. K?" he said and I nodded forgetting I'm on the phone.

"Er, yeah sure" I said.

"Cool. Cya in a bit." he said before hanging up. I left my room and immediately crashed into May.

"Watch where your going twerp!" I yelled at her.

"Jessi!" she squealed and hugged me, squeezing so hard that I could barely breathe. I pried her off me and she was jumping around me as I walked down the hallway like a chihuahua nipping at it's owners heals.

"Go away May!" I said after a while of answering her never ending questions.

"No! I haven't seen you in three years!!" she exclaimed loudly.

"So. Not like I dropped off the face of the earth unlike you and Drake." I said accusingly. May looked taken aback at my words and stopped walking. I kept walking glad that she finally stopped following me.

I arrived at the school entrance and saw Cane sitting on the steps. He smiled as he saw me and stood up.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. My little brat of a cousin wouldn't leave me alone." I explained. He chuckled.

"I see. Well now that your here, we can get going." he said as we walked to his car.

"When'd you get a car?" I asked as he opened the passenger side.

"The school gives you a car once you complete your lessons of the other vehicles. And plus I'm 15 almost 16." he explained as he started the car.

"Cool. What other vehicles are there?" I asked as he drove out of the parking and down the long drive connecting to the main road.

"Well first you learn to ride a dirt bike then a go cart then a golf cart, four wheeler, a horse-even tho they aren't vehicles you still have to learn to ride em- and then finally a car. But you have to be at least 15 or 16 before then." he said listing them off in order.

"Cool. I know how to drive most of those." I gloated. Cane laughed and said,

"Well that's good, cause then you'll be able to skip the basic classes and go right into the intermediate, where you learn how to do cool tricks and stuff like that." he said as we drove.

"Awesome." I said.

"So where are we going?" I asked watching as the trees on either side of the road disappear and  replaced by corn fields and farms.

"My uncle said I can come out, with a friend, and test out some gadgets he's working on." he said.

I looked at him confused.

"He works for a spy agency called S.S.S. Or Secret Spy Services. He makes all the gadgets. Most of the agents that work there went to Boys and Girls Fight Academy. Some of the best agents also went to our school." he explained. I gasped.

"Are you serious?!" I asked.

He nodded. "And you never told me. How dare you!" I punched him playfully in the arm putting more to it then I should have, accidentally. He winced and rubbed his arm.

"Ow" he said.

"Oops. Sorry. I'm not really used to my new strength yet." I said.

He pulled into a gravel driveway. It was surrounded by trees in which I was kinda glad for. I liked being in the woods.

After a few minutes he pulled up into a garage beside a medium sized house. I frowned at the size having expected something bigger considering his uncle is working for a spy agency.

Cane saw my face and laughed. "It's bigger on the inside then it looks on the outside." I nodded as he came around and opened my door for me.

"Cane! I'm so glad you came." I heard a man's voice say. I turned to see a burly guy with short brown hair and chestnut colored eyes. He looked around the age of 21. He was wiping his hands with a cloth that were a little dirty. I noticed that he had some grease on his face too, but I decided against telling him.

"Well I could never pass up an opportunity to test your gadgets. This is Jess. Me and her used to be in soccer and karate when we were little. Jess, this is my Uncle Scott." Cane introduced us to each other as we shook hands.

"Strong grip. Nice to meetchya, Jessica. Call me Scott" I nodded and giggled at his comment. Looking over at Cane, he was chuckling to himself also.

"So. Who wants to climb the side of the house?" Scott asked as we walked into his gadget shop as he called it.
