"I can't believe you all got detention," I groan as I walk into the library with Allison, watching everyone part ways as they sat at different tables. Stiles and Scott sat with Erica and Allison sat with Matt and Jackson.

Allison glances over at me as she speaks softly. "It's not that big of a deal."

I sigh as Mr. Harris walks into the room, looking up when he hears Jackson speak. "I have a restraining order on those tools."

"What tools?" Mr. Harris says as Stiles and Scott both groan.

"Us tools."

"You two sit over there," Mr. Harris snaps as he points to another table. Scott and Stiles quickly gather their stuff and move as everyone gets settled in, knowing that they're going to be here awhile. I might as well too, since it's not like I have anything else to do.

I sigh as I sit in a chair beside Allison, crossing my arms as I watch Matt eat some chips. "How long until this is over?"

"An hour and a half," Allison says, causing me to groan and throw my head back. This was going to be legit torture. "You know, since you figured out you can basically teleport, you could do stuff you haven't been able to do before."

I raise my eyebrow. "Like what?"

"Like going back home," she says softly. "Why don't you see how your family is doing?"

That didn't sound like a bad idea. I haven't exactly put much thought into my old life lately; and now that she mentioned it, I wondered how they were holding up. It would be nice to see what everyone was up to now.

I begin to stand. "You sure? I'd hate to leave you here."

"Go, Corey," Allison says with a smile. "You've been practically glued to me ever since you got here. Get out and do something else for a change."

I didn't want to leave Allison here sitting next to that weird stalker dude and with Jackson, who could turn into the Kanima at any moment. I didn't want to leave for that reason, but then I looked over at Scott, and I knew that he would keep her safe. Hell, he's kept her safe more than I have. I trusted him to protect her, so that's why I decided to go.

"I won't be gone for very long," I say. "I promise, okay?"

Allison nods her head as a huge smile spreads across her face. "Have fun."

I smile faintly back at her before I mentally picture my old home again, which was actually quite hard considering that I haven't been back there in a couple of months. I try to remember how my room was arranged; with my dark blue bed sheets, the small desk in the corner, and the bright lava lamp beside my bed that I had gotten for my thirteenth birthday. I thought of the little things and before I know it, I'm opening my eyes again, standing no where other than my room.

It had changed dramatically. Everything was covered in dust, if it wasn't covered in white sheets that is. My bed sheets were still there, along with my desk, but all of my other little objects were gone. The lava lamp was gone, my basketball trophy was gone, and so was all of the books that I had on my shelf. My heart drops when I see this, it finally settling in once again that I was actually dead.

I stand there for a moment as I look around, afraid to move. I felt that if I were to make the slightest movement, then everything around me would fall to dust. I'm not sure why; maybe because I felt like this was some type of dream that could change in an instant.

I was about to walk towards the door before suddenly it opens, revealing my mother. My jaw hangs open slightly when I see her, a sudden sadness filling my chest. Last time I had seen her was that night before the wreck when she had told me to be safe. She had told me to wear my seat belt and pay attention to road before most importantly she told me to have fun.
