"So little miss," kneeling in front of me, Irit's brown eyes stare in to my icy ones a warm and friendly look in them "can I ask for your name?"
'I really shouldn't but looking between the two brothers in front of me I can't help but feel safe.'
"My names Carrisa S-" I stop myself from speaking a single thought ringing in my ears 'Am I really Carrisa Skade anymore?'
Where is my daughter!?....you monster...
"Carrisa?"
Without a warning I'm suddenly pulled into a warm embrace "Shh...it's ok. No need to cry."
Without knowing I had let my tears fall and my small frame shake with the sobs that bubbled to my lips.
Demon...
I burry my face into to embrace that held me, as I let my cries reach the brothers ears.
"She acts so strong but, she's only a kid. She never asked for this."
With a sigh at his brothers words, Irit stands holding me as he goes my small hands gripping his shirt. I hated sympathy, must have been my Viking blood, but Eret's words rung true and I was so happy knowing they cared.
I don't know how long I cried into Irit's shoulder, long enough for his shirt to become damp and for the food over the fire to cook and cool. 'I needed that' is all I could think when I stood up from Irit's lap.
"Thank you Irit, Eret. For everything"
Irit simply smiles at me giving a short nod, Eret answering with a simple welcome.
"You know, I think Clarrisa is a beautiful name. I don't really understand why you would cry over it."
thwack
"Ow! Oh come on Eret, I was just trying to lighten the mood."
Rolling his eyes at his older brother Eret walks away picking up the meat he had prepared earlier "Yah well you picked a really stupid way to do it."
I smile at the brothers a small weight seeming to lift from my heart 'I really can't thank you both enough'
I'm so sorry for the extra short filler chapter and large indents in updates. Life's been.....well weird to say the least the last month so my updates should be more frequent (and longer) all depending on that this 'problem' calms down. Thank you if you have stuck around for this
