'This is what' - a thought will look like
This is a authors note (at the end if the chapter) or loud sound (in the chapter)-------------------------------------------
"Here." Shoving a sack into my hands the same boy from before stands in front of me.
"U-um what do I-"
"They're clothes. I cut some slits in them for your tail and wings, so you don't need to worry about that." I stand there a little longer unmoving, wondering if I should really trust this boy 'is this really a good idea?'
Before my thoughts can trail any more, I feel a a slight weight on my head. Cautiously looking up I see the boy is giving me a soft smile his warm and rough hand resting on my head "Just put them on and I'll start making you some dinner." With that the boy turns and walks away heading to a small fire he had set up just a few minutes ago.
I glance at the clothes inside the sack and notice they look more fitting for a woman rather then a girl my size and indeed have small slits for my new dragon features. Stepping behind a thick tree near the lake, I slip my dirty and ripped dress off placing the new clothes on.
The clothes weren't much to be honest just a brown dress that came down to my knees with fur trimming on the shoulders and baggy light blue pants that dragged on the ground as I walked.
"I know they are big but" turning around the boy continues to talk watching as I walk closer to him and the fire "I thought it be best so you could grow into them."
"Thank you..." I trail off looking at the boy 'oh that's right I don't even know his name yet'
"Eret, son of Eret and great brother of Irit the-well he hasn't done anything yet so just Irit"
'What creative names -_-" '
"Now hold on little brother I do believe it is Irit the amazing, Irit the awesome, Irit the hero."
A squeak leaves me as another voice joins our conversation. Spinning around I feel my tail wrap around my waist as my wings hug tightly to my body.
Just a few steps from my smaller frame a tall and muscular boy stands. He appears to be a few years older then Eret, 16 or 17. Though his build was that of a man the childish grin resting on his lips, which sat just above the same chin tattoo Eret has, seemed to contradict his build making him look less threatening.
"E-eret?" I question looking at him over my shoulder 'he's not betraying me is he!?'
Sighing Eret simple shakes his head at his brother before looking at me "This is my brother, he wanted to come help."
"You told people about me?!" Alarmed I take a step away from Eret only to stop short when Irit lets out a laugh.
"He did no such thing little miss. You see Eret here, came back to camp early and well I was curious as to why. You see Dad had left me to watch camp, while everyone else went out to search for this demon the village was speaking of." I can't help but flinch when the boy speaks of my village calling me a demon 'of course they think that'.
"Irit..." Eret says a low warning resting just beneath his words.
"Sorry sorry" gently Irit pats my head in an apologetic manner before continuing with his story "So I went up and asked 'What are you doing back?' 'It's nothing, Irit.' 'I don't think it's nothing, little brother.' 'Well it is so drop it.'"
thwack
"Ow! What the heck was that for Eret!?"
"Stop making my voice sound like a girls. I sound nothing like a girl" scowling at his older brother, Eret whacks Irit's head again before crossing his arms in annoyance.
Irit sends a fake scowl in my direct, mocking his brother, which sends my timid giggles from before into louder ones causing me to try and silence them with my hands.
Both boys look over at me surprised before a soft smile crosses their tanned faces.
"Ah...so you do smile little miss. And here I was wondering if you did."
'I think...things are going to be ok now'
