•1 week later Saturday Afternoon - 1:30 p.m.•
"So what do y'all think about me moving to Cali?" I asked my mom and stepdad as we were watching Tv.
My mom and stepdad looked at me, and I knew that this was going to be a serious talk. They turned down the volume on the Tv so we could talk about it.
"You know that we'll back you up and help you where ever it is you want to go, but are you sure that you want to go to California?" My mom asked me as she took my hand.
"Yeah, a friend of mine is moving over to California and he's been helping me about this whole Chase situation. I think it's the best place to go," I said as I held my moms hand with my other hand.
"What part of California?" My stepdad asked.
"For sure in LA," I said looking up at him.
"We told you this before and we're telling you again, we will help you no matter where you choose to live. We just know that you need a fresh start with everything." My mom said as I could see her eyes water a bit, "not only about the whole Chase situation, but also because of your dad."
"Please let's not talk about him," I mumbled.
"We won't, I just want you to be happy Sam," my mom said.
My dad was always a touchy subject, and I don't like to talk about him after everything he did to this family.
"When do you plan on leaving?" My stepdad asked.
"Sometime next week hopefully," I said.
"Can we meet the boy you are leaving with at least?" My stepdad asked and my mom nodded her head in agreement.
"Yeah, I could ask him if he could come over tonight if y'all would like," I said as I took out my phone.
"Yeah, invite him over for dinner," my mom said.
I unlocked my phone to text Matt.
Me
Hey Matt, want to come over for dinner to meet my mom and stepdad? I talked to them about Cali, and they just want to meet the guy I plan on leaving with.

Sure, I'll go over tonight, I'll be in my best behavior don't worry.
Me
You are always at your best behavior Espinosa.

I have to be in my meet the parents best behavior though.

Yeah, yeah! I'll see you tonight Matthew.

I locked my phone and put it back in my pocket.
"He's coming over tonight mom," I said.
"Okay, well now I have to make something good for dinner," my mom said as she walked over to the kitchen.
"Do you like this boy Sam?" My stepdad asked.
"He's just a friend, and he's helping me get over Chase," I explained.
