Lencey Nightley

Today is Saturday. I don't have any schedules for today. Perks of being a weekdays person, you can have a great rest days when weekend comes.

It's 9 A.M in the morning, I'm currently lying in my bed with my guitar on my right side and a book on my left side. It feels like heaven, everytime I'm doing these things. It makes me feel so alive. Many people think that I'm weird, because they said I'm too different compared to some other girls out there. Oh well, this is me, and I love myself and I love being different. Besides, I don't live my life just to impress others, I live my life because this is what I want to be. It's not my fault if they don't like what I'm doing, and I don't care if they don't accept me as I am. My world doesn't revolves around them.

I'm in the middle of my reverie when my mom open the door.

" My princess, aren't you going downstairs? " she asked while smiling.
" Maybe next time I'll put something on my door like 'Knock first before you open ' " I said while quoting the said thing.
" no need my princess, cause I know already if you're doing something important or not. Besides, it's Saturday and I definitely know what you're doing right now. And, my intuition is right. "
My mom really knows everything about me. It's hard to lie to her. She can easily figure out if I'm telling the truth or not. Or, if I'm sad or something is bothering me.
Even if I'm already 19, she still calls me princess. It may be sound childish, but I love it. I can totally feel my family loves me. I'm the luckiest girl ever!

" we have a new neighbor today. And they're asking for our help. I think it's time for us to lend a hand " she said casually.
"really? Are they good? "
" what kind of question is that? Do you think I'll help them if they're not good? " mom answered as if like it's the most obvious answer in the world.
" haha! I'm just kidding mom. "
" ha ha ha! Funny. " she said sarcastically
" Hahaha! I smell sarcasm. Haha! " I said while laughing.

This is how we treat each other. We treated each other like best friends. That's why, whenever I'm acting crazy , she can also understand and just go with my crazy scheme.

" fix your face first. And wear something nice okay? " she said teasingly
" are you questioning my sense of fashion my dearest mom? "
" no my dear, I'm just afraid that you'll look like a rockstar instead of a princess. You know what I mean. Haha! " after that, she burst out laughing while going downstairs.
"mom! "

Seriously, my mom never stops teasing me.
I know what she means about looking like a rockstar. It only means that I look like a ragged girl. Tsk!

I changed my loose shirt into a fit black shirt. Then, a skinny jeans with a pair of converse shoes. I just tied my long blonde hair into ponytail style. Just enough to make my bluish eyes visible to see.

I'm just wondering why I still have to look good if we're just gonna help them. I feel something's strange and weird about it.

To finish my curiosity, I go downstairs.
My mom is currently having a funny conversation with a woman, maybe she's our new neighbor. And my dad at the outside carrying some boxes with another brownish hair man same age as him , whom I guess the woman's husband. I wonder if they have a child.

Mom noticed my presence. Then, she smiled at me. I know that she likes what I'm wearing right now.
I'm kinda boyish when it comes to fashion. I don't even know how to wear high heels. And, I barely wear dresses or any girly wears. That's why, every now and then, my mom checks my outfit.

" Oh, by the way, this is my daughter, Delencey Blaire. "
" wow! What a very beautiful girl! " the woman said with full of admiration.
I feel so embarrassed, I just smiled as a sign of reply to her compliment. Honestly, I'm not used to this kind of compliments. I used to being shy and being a wallflower, wherein no one will notice me.
