Chapter 17: Everything's Fine For Now (Cameron's p.o.v.)

    I jumped when I heard the door open. Gah, I need to stop doing that. Logan's nurse had walked in, and started to check on him. She then proceeded to tell us we had to leave. And to be quite honest, I don't want to leave. Ryan could be out there waiting for me anywhere. And I don't want to run into him.

    "Miss Henderson-" She started but I cut her off.

    "Cameron." I told her. How many times do I have to tell this lady?

    "Right. Any-who, dear, you do need to leave soon. He needs his rest, and you can come back in a few hours." She said. Did I say that out loud? Or did she just know what I was thinking? I mean, I might have said I wasn't leaving, but I swear I didn't say it. "If you would like." She then added.

    I shook my head at her. I'm not gonna leave.

    "Miss, you must leave." She told me.

    "No." I stated.

The nurse just kept staring at me. Does she think that she can intimidate me? Because if she does, she's wrong. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw all four of them watching us closely.

    "I'm not leaving this room." I told her flatly.

    "Cameron come on." Kendall tried to persuade me.

I shook my head at him. It's not going to work.

    "I'll be quiet, I swear." I told her. Pleading her to let me stay.

I saw her give a small sigh, "Not everyone can stay here." She said giving in.

    "We know. Don't worry, we'll leave." Carlos said. Then quickly asked, "But can you give us a few moments before we do?"

    She nodded her head in response. "I suppose so. Just a few more minutes." She said, then walked out of the room.

After a few minutes James spoke up. "So.... why wont you leave?" He asked me.

Right, like I'm actually going to answer that.

    "Yeah Cam, how come?" Carlos then asked.

I'm not answering them. I can't. What would I say? One person already knows, and well, it turned out bad. One met one, but that also turned out bad. So, I'm not going to say anything. They can ask and ask, I'll never say. Okay, maybe one day I'll say. But now? Definitely not now.

    "That's what I would like to know." Kendall said. "Ever since we were in the cafeteria, and you talked to that guy, you've been all...." he paused, "weird." He finished.

He's right. I have been all weird since I saw Ryan. And I'm going to continue to be acting weird till, well, I don't know when I'll stop. Maybe when I know that Ryan can't get to me.

    "What guy?" Carlos asked.

    "I don't know." Kendall answered him. I looked away. I can't stand if he just stares at me like that.

I sat there waiting for the guys to leave. Never looking up. How can I face them? They're all thinking that I'm going crazy, I know it. And I just can't stand to leave this room and run into Ryan.

They said goodbye to Logan and sort of to me. This time I looked up at them, and returned there goodbyes. I watched them walk out, but Kendall didn't follow. What is he doing?

Staring at him, I silently was asking him 'what' when he walked over to me, lightly grabbed my arm and pulled me up. I followed him till he stopped just by the door.
