Blinding light. That was the first thing Louis took in when he opened his eyes. It was so bright, that Louis's eyes snapped close right after he had opened them with the strength he gathered from his tired, slowly waking up body.

Am I dead?

Slower this time, Louis opened his eyelids, and as his eyes adjusted, he felt really stupid.

No. He wasn't dead. He felt almost embarrassed from thinking that. The light was very familiar, it was just the lamp bought from IKEA on the ceiling of their living room.

But Louis didn't get how. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? Wasn't he having a leukostasis? The doctor had told him, that without medication, you can die from leukotasis. Then again Louis wasn't a doctor. He couldn't just diagnose himself with anything. And sometimes, he gets really tired, like really tired, and just can't keep away. Never has the urge to sleep been so strong, but that probably just meant that it was getting worse. And it was. He knew he was dying.

He reached for his phone tiredly, still laying on the floor, and unlocked the screen. It just felt like he had taken a nap, and he wondered how long he had been unconscious.

3.24 pm.

Now Louis was a little bit confused. He remembered clearly looking at the time at 3:17 pm.

The cancer was clearly fucking up Louis worse everyday.

With a sigh he slowly sat up, and looked at the TV screen. The modern family was on a pause, patiently waiting for Louis to continue watching itself. He didn't find anything else to do really, so Louis searched for the remote and did.

" I'm home!" echoed Louis's mothers voice half an hour later.

" No you're not, you're mom." Louis mumbled the answer tiredly, focused deeply on TV. Louis's mom made her way to the living room, still wearing her high heels and carrying two plastic bags of groceries.

" Louis why are you sitting on the floor?" A little bit of concern was in Jay's voice, but Louis shot her a smile that told her he was okay.

" I uh, dropped my phone and didn't bother climbing back on the couch because I'm a lazy ass."

Louis's mom only snorted at that, and walked to the kitchen, setting the bags on the counter.

" How are you feeling today?" She asked Louis while putting the milk in to the fridge, and

" A little tired. And really hungry."

" If you help me with unpacking these bags, the food will be cooked sooner." Louis's mom hinted, and threw a package of toiler paper, a tube of toothpaste and a pack of pads at him. "Take these to bathroom if you may."

" But I'm hungry now." Louis whined child-a-like, and stood up slowly. He wasn't sure how he was gonna feel standing up, but gladly he felt nothing out of normal.

" Then make yourself a sandwich or eat a yogurt while waiting for the dinner."

Louis muttered a 'yeah yeah' before he heard his phone bing. He took the phone and noticed one new message.

From: Liam

Are you feeling okay?

Louis felt warm inside, when he read the message from his best friend. Liam was a sweetheart, and even though he could totally beat up a whole football team by himself, he was still so caring and soft as a guy can be. Niall was really lucky.

To: Liam

Just peachy :)
