"_____, _____! I found your spare key, you always hide it here! I have off days and I thought maybe we could catch up, I wanted to say I'm sor- _____? _____! Oh my God, _____, wake up! Please wake up!"
Lay pulled out his phone, yelling for Kyungsoo and Chen to come into the house.
"911, what is your emergency?"
"My girlfr-" Lay paused, reassessing his words. "Uh, my friend is here with an empty bottle of pills, I think she took them, we need medical assistance!" Lay shouted into the phone, tears streaming onto your unconscious body.
He held your hands as a folded, slightly creased and crumpled fell out of your cold fingertips. He noticed the freshly open scars and started to cry even harder, wishing he had come over earlier, wishing he had apologised earlier, wishing he had confessed that he still loved you earlier.Soon after, the ambulance came, carrying you into the back.
"_____, I love you." He whispered into your ear, giving a sweet, secure kiss to your forehead as you were wheeled away. He opened the crumpled note and started to read, his tears blotting the already smudged ink, words written in your neat handwriting.
Dearest Lay,
Before you came into my life, it was hell. Everything. It was darkness, Lay. School, work, family, and friends. It was just... just a constant cycle. But then... then I met you. I saw you at the school festival, sitting with your eleven acapella friends, singing. When you sang your solo, there was something about you popular kids. Something that... compelled me to you. So when I went up to you to compliment you, I saw a flash of light and my heart skipped a beat. But I'd only just talked to you. Soon, as we became acquainted, I noticed my life wasn't so dark anymore. The dark world I had been living in for so long wasn't so bleak anymore when colours started to line the horizon as I heard your laugh, sang with you, as you came to my house more and more often. I noticed things about you. Your smile, the way you ran your fingers through your hair, your dimple. They all made me so happy. By the time you had finally gained the courage to ask me out, to hold my hand, to kiss me, the sky in my life was so bright, so colourful, so beautiful. I... I fell in love with you, Zhang Yixing. But, just under a month ago, the sun set in my temporarily bright sky. I knew it would happen, but why so soon? I was broken, Lay. Everything had gone back to black. My life was, again, just a cycle. I saw the stares from the girls who loved you too, the envy and persecution dripping from their eyes.
Lay, I was absolutely broken. Nothing could console me, not even hearing your voice in concerts, the familiar one that sang me to sleep every night. As you grew more popular, we grew farther apart. I sank deeper into sadness, I started hating myself even more, thinking about and regretting everything I should have done before you left me. Was I too low for you? Maybe, maybe I was. But I don't think I deserved what I got. The hate for being your ex from "saesengs" grew as your fame did, gaining a spot into a SM contract. I thought the words couldn't hurt more than the knives slitting my wrists did. But they did. A lot. So I took it upon myself to make the words seem like nothing.
And here I am, writing my final message to you. I just want to say thank you. For bringing light into my life, even if darkness was destined to come right after it. Thank you. I can't say it enough. A giant perscription's worth of painkillers is laying in my hand, and I'm ready to take all the pain away. Goodbye, Zhang Yixing. I've never stopped loving you.
Forever In Your Heart,
_____ <3
"No..." Lay muttered, re-reading the words once again. "No! She- She can't die on me like this!
