Welcome to the sequel to The Yakuza Bride. The Prince of Thieves begins roughly three years after TYB ends. Leon is now considered one of the fiercest mob boss' in New York. His hold over the city's turf has increased and he rakes in billions of dollars every year in black money. Hana has graduated from college and is playing in the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Yakuza and Mafia are more or less at peace. The Mexicans, after the disappearance of Juan Gonzales, have kept to themselves and no longer interfere with the Mafia's operations. New threats are rising from old ashes though, and Leon has to rise up again to prevent his newly gained empire from crumbling.

Do I have to read The Yakuza Bride first?
Yes. You will have to read TYB first to get a clear understanding of TPOT. The Yakuza Bride is the first book in the series.
Do I have to read Between Then and Now first?
No. I recommend that you read TPOT first. The rationale for BTAN coming after TPOT is because Leon and Hana didn't know a thing that happened in each other's lives during the three years they were apart. I want you to experience the series in such a manner as well. BTAN also contains TPOT spoilers.
Why is the title The Prince of Thieves?
Vor, the Russian word for thief, is used to describe a member of the Russian mafia. Since Leon has risen in status since we last met him, he has been given the nickname Prince of Thieves. Ergo, the title The Prince of Thieves. Besides, The Yakuza Bride referred to Hana, so Leon gets a turn too.
