'How's she?' Dom asked.

They had moved to the Puzzle Box for the time being, Mosay included. The house was on high alert for suspicious persons in the vicinity and armed guards patrolled the grounds.

'She's calmed down,' Leon said. 'I managed to get her to sleep.'

She had been fidgety and anxious earlier, not even daring to shut her eyes or use the washroom by herself. He had held her to him, patted a gentle rhythm on her head, and whispered words of comfort in her ear until she became drowsy and dropped off to sleep.

How he wished he had come down to the hospital after the call with her. But at least she and baby were safe, and that was all that mattered to him.

Yet his own cares would not end even when his wife was sound asleep.

He let out a sigh. Work still had to be done, and they were in a critical time. He could not let his worries distract him from other matters at hand.

'What's the plan for tonight?' he asked. 'Still the same team?'

'Yeah, the guys want another round,' Mickey reported. 'They're running on adrenaline now. But I'll change the teams up for the third hit.'

He nodded.

'Okay, that sounds good.'

His men had done some damage on Carlos' turf. They had taken Carlos' men by surprise and managed to scatter the smaller gangs under them. But it was still not enough damage. Between him and Kai, their men would have to blast a larger dent in Carlos' armour before he would show himself.

They would get Keiji and Carlos, he swore. He couldn't believe Keiji had been so close to them the whole time and no one had realised. Not even Juan knew he had been working beside his nephew. They had all been in danger, and once again, Leon wished he had never agreed to let her partake in the Hellfire business.

And Juan, where was he? They hadn't heard from him ever since the operation at Hellfire ended. Leon wondered if it was necessary to reach out to him. Juan wouldn't know to find them here either way.

Then again, this would be for the better, wouldn't it? He didn't think Juan's appearance here would be good for either him or his men since the Gonzales' and the Federov's were clashing head to head now.

'Osuke says they're facing some backlash from the family of the men whom we killed at Hellfire,' Dom added. 'Their bodies are being kept in the police mortuary for investigation and are unlikely to be released any time soon.'

'Do they need us to do anything?'

'No, they say they can manage. The men's families are also reluctant to point them out, so that's good for them.'

He nodded briefly.

'Okay. Then we'll see them tonight.'

Hana woke up to the smell of soup and toasted bread. A sleepy groan left her as her eyes flickered open and she saw Leon coming into the room with a tray. For a moment, the events of the day flooded her memory but she pushed those aside for now and sluggishly sat up.

She was no longer at the hospital. She was safe here. Leon was here.

He sat himself on the bed beside her with a gentle hand brushing back her hair.

'Hey, sleepy head,' he whispered affectionally before pressing a kiss to her brow. 'I made some soup. But I don't think it's as good as yours.'

A slight smile crossed her lips.
